I ran. I kept running down this never ending road. It was dark, with not even the moon or stares to illuminate my path. It was just darkness. Yet I knew where I was even though I was nearly blinded my darkness. I knew that this lonely road was surrounded by nothing but woods. Which was odd. I don't recognize any of this. And how did they keep finding me? And why? Why did they have to keep me? Why me? I was no one special. But there was something special about me. I knew it, even though I wanted desperately to deny it. So why? That seemed to be the only question I have now a days. Why?
They continued the chase, having just as much stamina as I have. Which is saying something. But now that I'm...different, I've been through a lot of changes, not just increased stamina. A change of life style. I went from a normal life, to a real nightmare. I saw visions and flashes of my old home, of my smiling friends, of everything I was forced to leave behind.
But now wasn't the time to dwell on the past. I just had to keep running. But the road kept stretching out before me. I was never going to see the end. The finish line.
Then I tripped. I crashed onto the ground, but felt no pain.
They finally ran to me, all three of them surrounding me so I couldn't escape. Their faces where blank, with no features whatsoever.
"Finally, we have her." I didn't recognize the voice.
"What should we do with her?" Another one asked.
I looked up at all of them helplessly. Why didn't I try fighting back? It just seemed pointless now.
"HALO!" I perked up at the voice shouting my name. I know that voice. It's the same voice I found such comfort in many times before. I looked in between they captures legs, and in the distance I saw him. He came. He came to try and save me. But I knew it was to late for me. I stared sadly at his terror written face.
"Halo!" He screamed again.
Before I could yell a response, I felt a pinch in my arm. I looked at where the pain was, seeing a needle in it.
"You'll never be able to run away again."
Then it all vanished.
