There they were. The Mindcrackers, running around, chasing each other and doodling. They were 5. They were in a large classroom. Aurey and Vechs were making faces at each other, Etho and Seth were playing with spare redstone, Beef, Pause, Baj and Guude were trying to assemble a team of some sort, Kurt was showing Zisteau a little star map, and everyone else was playing tag or drawing.
-
There they were, starting Middle School. They looked terrified, not used to more than 25 pupils. They hung around together, not really talking to anyone else. Two guys, Chad and Sevadus, joined the group after not too long, becoming good friends with the guys. They started to call themselves Mindcrack. "Trying to think of a group name really makes your mind crack." Guude had said. And the name just stuck.
-
Year 8. Some, like Pause, Doc and Vechs were towering above everyone else, whereas some, like Pyro, Aurey and Guude, were shorter. Most, like Beef, Bdubs and Etho, just hung in the middle. They were closer than ever before, and some teams such as Team Canada, Team America, Team Lavatrap, Single Malt Scotch and Nancy Drew had formed.
-
Year 9, starting High School. The year the prank wars started, too. It started when Jsano decided to hide the contents of Guude's locker. Guude got him back by putting six padlocks on Jsano's locker in return. That sparked it. From filling lockers with glitter to getting the whole class plus teachers in on jokes, you never felt safe, but in an exhilarating, exciting way.
-
The end of highschool. Everyone was graduating, and next came worrying about university and college. Prom came around, and most of the ships that the guys had previously joked about made appearances. Pause and Beef, Guude and Bdubs, Pyro and Millbee, Kurt and Z, Vechs and Aurey, Chad and Sev... That was only some of them.
-
They all attempted get into the same university. All but five managed. Etho, Bdubs, Generik, Paul and TheJims weren't going to the same one. Etho was moving out of the country, Bdubs had been accepted to a different uni, Generik and Jim's weren't accepted, and Paul had an urgent family matter that could take months to sort out, leaving no time for uni at all.
They said their goodbyes, and tears were shed at losing some of their best friends since they were 5 years old.
"Keep in contact," Guude said to all of them. Guude was still viewed as the leader of the group, since he was the one who had started it all, all that time ago.
"We'll be back."
-
Graduating from uni. They could do anything with their lives now. Anything they wanted. Nebris and Seth wanted to give computer programming a shot, people like Pak and Adlington just wanted a plain job that would give them a bit of free time, like cleaning or working the tills in a shop. A lot of them, though, wanted to make a living off a video sharing site called YouTube.
-
Years passed. Eventually, none of them contacted each other any more, as they managed to lose contact details one way or another. But Guude was working hard. He said he had a secret project going on, which he did... and it had been going on for a long while.
He was going to reassemble the Mindcrack crew. Guude was probably the last person any of them spoke to. He did some internet snooping, found email addresses, twitter accounts, YouTube accounts, everything...
He sent a message to each of them, in whichever way possible.
"Hey, guy.
Do you remember, when you were 5, then 10, then 15, then graduating from university, a group? A group called Mindcrack? I hope so. I'm trying to get us all back together. I've been working on it for about a year and a half now. You guys are hard to get a hold of, but I've done it. Send me an email back, let me at least know you got this. We need to meet up again, arrange something.
-Guude"

Within a couple of weeks, he got a message back from almost everyone. The only exceptions being Blame and Etho. He got Skype information from everyone he heard back from, and a week later, they were all in a video call together, laughing and having fun like they used to.
-
A new game was released. One with endless possibilities, one with multiplayer gameplay, where they could play with each other no matter where they were in the world. It was perfect.
Minecraft.
Very quickly, a server was set up, and they were on it constantly. They could make videos, so those who made money off YouTube had a new series they could upload. Guys like Pak, Sev and Coe started livestreaming, some people joined behind the scenes, like Wes, and others became close to the group, like Rob. They had all watched each other grow up, all watched each other develop into their own people. But the main thing is they did it together. Everything that happened, they stuck with each other, no matter what.
All the teams that formed when they were younger stuck, names and all, and the series on YouTube started to grow. They gained subscribers and broadened the range of different games they played. Some by themselves, others with other Mindcrackers. They collaborated with other groups and became more successful than ever before. They finally managed to contact Blame, then Etho, and they joined the group once more, welcomed back immediately. It was almost like they had never left. They started to make videos with the other guys, and everything fitted into place perfectly. They had the group back together. Guude had achieved his goal, and everyone was having fun as an extra bonus. Mindcrack as together once more, and it was going to stay that way this time.
