When I look at you
And her
Together
My eyes are greenThey are emeralds
Shining with the tainted light from my soul
As I try
To look awayWhen my mother
Yells
At me
My eyes are redThey are rubies
Burning with passion
As I bow my head
In submissionWhen I see you
Standing there
Alone
My eyes are grayThey are marbles
Swimming with longing
As I try to get you
To look at meI saw a woman at the store today
She looked at me and said,
"Your eyes are such a pretty blue"I guess the sadness
Is what really
Shines through
