"What?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I flew you." Peter smiled. Peter always had a big smile but this just seemed extra happy. Happy and a tad impressed with himself.

"I don't follow" I lowered my eyebrow.
"I mean, it makes a lot of sense... me not feeling anything anymore and getting so far away. But at the same time it makes zero sense..." I looked him in the eye. "What did you do?" I thought to myself over and over again. Then I started thinking to myself how stupid I was, almost getting hit by that car. And how the driver must have felt, and if they were okay after the crash. "God I hope so" I whispered.

"What?" Peter asked.

"Thinking about how reckless I was. Whatever, I just hope whoever was in that car is okay."

I looked out the window, everything was quiet for about a minute before he said
"I really did fly you. I'll show you how some time."

The waitress came back and asked if we were ready to order. After about an hour of us stuffing our faces Peter payed and we left the restaurant. We started walking down a street I've never been on before. It wasn't too far from home, It was definitely far enough for comfort though. After about 20 minutes of walking Peter said

"Mary is a pretty name. If I grow up and have a daughter I want to name her Mary. But I guess that's probably never going to happen. " he smiled, he was happy but there was a hint of sadness in his eyes.

I had only met Peter that day and frankly I didn't think I cared for him too much at the time, yet I couldn't stand to see him even the slightest bit sad.

"You'll have a daughter one day, promise." I said. Looking away from him.

"Don't promise, I can never have one of my own, I might be able to.. adopt one I guess." Peter smiled, he had an idea. At the very end on that sentence I swear he had gotten an idea.

"I promise you'll have a daughter. I don't know how but I promise." I said.

He smiled to himself and the with an excited face he said

"Hey, do you want a piggyback ride!?" Peter smiled.

"Do I what? No, I'm not five."
I said

He stopped and slightly crouched down as if preparing himself for me to climb on to his back.
There was a pause, we held eye contact for a good minute before I said and sounded the slightest bit excited

"Okay I'm five give me a piggyback ride!"
I climbed on his back and he started off running!

Best first piggyback ride ever!
