It had been a few hours since the "incident" with Peter, but by now it was a funny memory. It was dark out, we practically spent the whole day in the room. We found a horror movie on TV and Danny turned off all the lights to give the room an eerie feel as we watched. Peter was all spread out on his bed next to us and Danny was laying across the foot of our bed. Meanwhile I was all bundled up in the fluffiest blanket I could fine and practically made a pillow fort around me. It was an old horror movie, but I liked it. I didn't catch the name though.

"Mary? I'm tired, can I have a blanket and my spot back?" Danny asked quietly. I nodded and scooted my fort over to the side. Then I put my blanket over him. I turned my head over to the left, Peter had fallen asleep like a log.

"Why is it so cold in here?" Danny whispered.

"I don't know, here take all of the blankets." I said, and piled the huge blob onto him. He looked like a giant grumpy marshmallow. After he was done being angry he laughed a little, then spread the blankets out evenly onto us and I drifted off to sleep.

I spread the blankets out on Mary and I, then minutes later she fell asleep. She was inches away, I could feel her breathing on my chest. I just stared at her, breathing, wondering if she was having any dreams. I just wanted them to be good.

An hour passed, maybe two but I was still just looking down at her. Making sure she didn't look like she needed help. Making sure she didn't kick, scream, cry. Not even a flinch. But I still watched her for any signs of distress.

I looked at her nose, her dirty blonde hair that fell on her back, her cheeks, her lips and finally her closed eyelids. But every time I looked at her eyes, I saw her crying again, I felt her shaking and herd her heaving so heavily, as if she could barley breath. It was horrible, seeing the pain in her eyes. The things she must have seen, and felt. It was all horrible. I started to tear up just thinking about her having to go through that. Then, she opened her eyes and looked up into mine. She stared at me as if she was reading my mind. She saw the tears falling from my face and said "You're not okay.".

She looked worried, but then wrapped herself around me. "I'm fine, I promise!" I said back, but she just pulled me in tighter. "You're getting better... But I could feel your heart racing." She said. I put my arms around her and pulled her in close. I tried to tell her why I was sad but before I could say anything she said

"This morning I was crying... And you held me until I felt better, Thank you. The only thing I want to do now is do the same for you."
