"Alright." Peter started. He went on explaining how he takes lost boys off to this magical place called Neverland, where you can live for years and years and never grow up. He explained how he could fly, how he had a fairy named Tinkerbell back home and how there were more lost boys back on the island. He told me they were like his children.
Then he went on explaining his age
"You see, the reason I still look younger then I am is because when you're in Neverland, your body doesn't age. But you've still been alive for a however many years. Thats how... technically.... I'm 24." He said
I felt so strange, a feeling I've never had before. I'd just met him that day. This whole thing started with me punching him in the nose, almost getting hit by a car, him saving my life by flying me away and then giving me a piggyback ride?? It was all starting to be alot to take in. And it strangely seemed as if it were all a dream. But that couldn't be, it was all too real.
"Mary I need to tell you something... ask you something. " Peter said, he started to sound a bit more serious.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"I've been watching over you for a little while now... and I know you don't have much here." There was a slight pause, making sure he didn't offend me. "I've only really known you for a day and... I've grown to really like you!! And I want to give you a home where people love and care about you."
Another pause.
"Mary will you come live with us in Neverland?" He spoke. I couldnt believe it. I was being asked to leave everything behind.... but I was being asked if I wanted a family who would love me.
"Thats all I've ever wanted." I whispered to myself. Tears started welling up in my eyes. I looked at Peter, then Danny sitting in a chair in the corner, with the sweetest smile on his face.
"Mary, the boys would love you." Danny spoke with confidence. He didn't seem shy at all then. Then the tears started pouring down my face and with a smile I said.
"Take me to Neverland!"
