I looked into the mirror and what did I see?
A beautiful child of God looking back at me
Her face looked so alight
As I took in the sight
Her surroundings had never looked so brightFor so long I had seen her
Broken and in despair
She had been blinded by the dark
The wet tears almost like a permanent markWhere had she been?
Had her stumble resulted from her being a teen?
She had hidden herself, covering her face
Every surge of pain weakened her paceIn the cold gloomy night, she was alone in her shadow
She cried out to Jesus in the midst of her low
He was there and he lifted up her chin
All of a sudden, nothing seemed dimJesus' eyes shone brightly, lighting up her spirit
And as he touched her kindly, he told her to sit
On the ground, he gave her his peace and rest
With a smile, he whispered, "I love you my child, I have always known you best."A tear ran down her face as he kissed her forehead
For she became alive as she once was dead
Ever since that day, I now see her shining like a light
Through days of her existence, she shines into the nightEvery night before bed, I pray for her, never do I forget
I thank Jesus for breaking her net
For she is now reborn and free in his Grace
Forever will she be wrapped in his embraceWith tears running down my face, I watch her vibrant eyes gaze at me
This child of God will shine her light brightly for all to see.
