My tears were falling as I wept
Right on my heart, my hand was kept
The grainy sand spilled at my feet
As I wriggled my toes, through the holes it seeped
Before me, the waves moved as a harmony
Just like a soothing tune for all to see
You were never far from my thoughts oh Lord
My soul had been searching for you as it soared
Often I would remember your face through the walk
Such a simple memory, but a powerful hawk
I know your Grace is bigger than that of a species
But I don't always know where to look as I search the high seas
I never stop searching for my soul is in need
Allow your water to wash over me and give my soul a feed
If only I had known how close you were
Like a breath on my cheek, a gentle purr
When my heart was at ease, I rested
And that was when I realized I was being tested
I had been running from my God, hiding away
But he knew my soul and the best of my days
To seek him, the only true one
All I had to do was lay under the sun
Through resting, my soul was pursued
My God laid his hand on me, my only satisfying food.
