I've been avoiding Lucien all week now, in fact, I've been avoiding everyone. Except Bridgeth and Kaitleen since they bring me food and drink everyday to my room.

I was bored to insanity but didn't take my chances of leaving this room. The funny thing was, Lucien never came looking for me or asked how I was after the incident.
I felt a little heartbroken and upset about that and I didn't even know why. It's not like I loved him but I did have mixed feelings for him too and I was angry at myself for that. I should hate him right now.

I had cleaned up the bite mark and the pain had gone after a few days.

I usually just sat on the balcony with my knees up to my chest and looked up at the caliginous night sky.

"Can I come in, dearie?" Bridgeth's voice came from the other side of the door.

I got up from the balcony's bench seat and walked back inside.

"Yeah, Bridgeth. You can come in."

The door opened and Bridgeth was there with a tray of food.

"I've brought you your dinner," She said, stepping into my room.

I walked over and took the tray from her hands and set it on the coffee table.

"Thank you, Bridgeth."

She sighed.

"Look, dearie. I know what Lucien did was wrong but you need to know that he's that type of man," She tried to explain.

I plonked down on the sofa.

"He's not a man, he's a monster,"
I stated.

"We all have a past that makes us the way that we are now, dearie. It's not his fault he turned out like this."

Why would she try to defend him? He was a cruel bastard and I didn't get why everybody worshipped him.

"He did have a choice. He chose to be the way he is," I huffed.

"But you don't know why he chose to be the way that he is."

"Maybe I don't want to know," I crossed my arms. Childish, I know, but I really didn't want to talk about this right now.

She must have sensed my stubbornness because she just sighed.

"I'll leave you for a while."

She turned and left.

I groaned. Alone once again.

I felt bad for being a bitch to her because she did nothing but try to comfort me.

I looked at the tray of food. I wasn't hungry anymore. I'll just feed off of my own miserable feelings.

I got up from the sofa and headed for the bathroom in my room. Maybe a nice long shower will help me clear my head.

The beads of water drizzled down my body and my muscles relaxed. I never realised how tense I was.

I grabbed a towel and stepped out of the shower.

I padded over to the sink and looked at my reflection in the mirror.

There looking back at me was a worn out girl who looked like she needed a double expresso. My grey eyes with specks of green was dull. My long, black hair had lost its shine. My jawline and cheekbones had become sharper since I hardly have an appetite anymore. Thank goodness I didn't have any dark circles or bags under my eyes. I wasn't ready to start eating bamboo and be shipped off to China to live by the Yangtze River with the other pandas.

My whole frame had become even slimmer. I was never 'fat' or 'voluptuous'. I had always been tall and skinny which I inherited from my dad. The only features I inherited from my mom were my eyes, hair and tanned skin.

I walked out of the bathroom and jumped about 2 feet into the air.

"Erynn! You scared the shit out of me!" My grip tightened on the towel wrapped around my body.

"Sorry, I didn't know you were taking a shower," Erynn was blushing furiously.

"I'll just get changed." I speed walked over to the wardrobe and swung open its wide doors. I started to change behind it.

I heard Erynn throw herself onto the sofa.

"So what did you come here for?" I asked from behind the wardrobe doors.

"Well, I was worried when I heard what happened to you."

"Thanks, I guess. Does he always do that?"

I stepped out from behind the doors, wearing some black leggings and a large sweater.
I dumped myself down on the sofa beside her.

"You mean bite his pets?"

"Yeah," I said running my fingers through my damp hair.

"Yep but none of them have ever screamed as loud as you," She smirked when I figured the innuendo.

"That's not funny",  I said hitting her arm, "it was super painful and Goth Girl didn't help by telling me I was ugly."

"I take it that you met my twin, Eefah," She grumbled.

"Yes, lovely and charming girl just like Shakespeare's oh-so-romantic damsels," I said sarcastically.

"Hahaha! I guess you figured out her guilty pleasure," She laughed.

"Yep, it was an unexpected twist to the story, don't you think?" We both giggled uncontrollably.

I was so glad I had Erynn. She was the most easy-going and brightest person in this household. You could easily tell that she was the spotlight of any party. She was the complete opposite of Lucien and Eefah. How did they ever get along, I don't know. How did she stand them, I don't know.

"Oh, Isadora! I almost forgot to tell you something! We're having a ball to celebrate the Blood Moon tomorrow night," She squealed excitedly while clapping her hands together.

"Blood Moon?" I asked, confused.

"The Blood Moon is an annual occurrence in the supernatural world. It's to mark our existence since the beginning of time. Humans can only see a ordinary grey moon but our eyesight allows us to see the red colour that it changes to on December 13th every year," She explained.

"Wow. That's news to me," I said, trying to absorb the new information.

"It's going to be so amazing!", She cried happily, "You'll get to meet all the important witches, vampires and werewolves!"

"Yeah, that's great..." I wasn't really listening because I was just thinking: Lucien, party, important people.

I was going to get my revenge on Lucien tomorrow.

I'm going to crash this bloodsucking party!
