Chapter 33: Strut It Out

"Why in such a hurry to leave when the party has just begun?" Dimitri's taunting voice made my heart fall.
So much for my freedom. I guess it would have to wait another while.

Jaycon, Lucien, Erynn and Eefah all turned around and I slowly did too. I wish I was Medusa right now so I could turn this fang face to stone and then sell him to an art collector. He would probably be wanted as a statue more than a deceptive vampire ass.

"Dimitri, so nice of you to show up," Lucien walked over to stand beside me protectively and gave Dimitri a hard stare.

Dimitri smirked and flashed a grin at him.

"Well, I wouldn't want to be so impolite as to let my guests leave without me wishing them farewell," He laughed unhumourlessly.

Lucien's body stood stoically beside me and I could almost sense his frustration and monster waiting to be released as a low growl passed his lips. His eyes were focused only on Dimitri and they shone with a threatning light. Jaycon stood in front of both Eefah and Erynn guardingly, his position ready to leap out at any time.

This seemed to be funny to Dimitri as his eyes twinkled with amusement.

"I'm surprised that you came for her. I never thought you'd care that much for your whores," Dimitri mocked Lucien and my insides bubbled with anger. Whore? I bet he had done more sleeping around in his 200 and something years than I would in 5 lifetimes.

"I would be careful of the words that come out of your mouth," Lucien said in a calm yet steely voice, "It may end your life in a blink of an eye."

Wait, was Lucien somehow...standing up for me? I was curious to why he actually came, too. This man was seriously unpredictable.

"Hm, do you love her?"

Dimitri's question took me by surprise and my eyes widened. Lucien...love me? You've got to be kidding. He hated my guts and I hated his equally. We couldn't stand eachother. Then my mind went back to those moments where we shared our kisses and had a sudden feel of desire for one another. Lucien was my first kiss. He made me so frustrated and annoyed but also, he made me feel so confused. What was it about me and him? One minute I wanted to kill him, the next I wanted to be near him.

Ah, fuck my feelings.

They never seemed to make sense.

I waited expectantly for Lucien to answer. He stood still, his eyes stared straight ahead and his expression blank.

"Why is that your concern?" Lucien finally said after moments of silence.

Dimitri just grinned.

"Well, you seem to be concerned about her enough to make you come looking for her which is very rare for you. Also, you're never this close to any of your pets. Not even your own fiancée, Rosanna."

At the mention of Rosanna I expected him to go all ape and rip off Dimitri's head off his shoulders. I held my breath and waited for the assault.
To my amazement, Lucien's expression remained unlegiable and unmoved.

"I came for her because she is needed in the house. I paid a lot of money for her so I'm not willing to let her go that easily."

Lucien's empty answer was like a punch to my chest. I couldn't help but hope that I meant a bit more than that to him.

"Really now? To me, it looks like you've began falling for her," Dimitri said, unconvinced.

"If she really means that little to you then you wouldn't mind if I did this to her..."

Dimitri snapped his fingers and I felt a presence next to me. I looked beside me and I recognised the vampire called, Dean who helped look for me when I was trying to escape the prison. He clamped a hand on my arm and dragged me away from Lucien and towards Dimitri.

"Let go of me you ass," I struggled against his hold but he shoved me towards Dimitri and I stumbled into him. Dimitri caught my arm and just when I thought he was going to steady me, he pulled out a blade from his pocket and, in one swift motion, dragged the blade across my forearm, leaving a thin trail of blood to seep from it.

"Hey!" I cried and winced at the stinging pain and wrinkled my nose at the rusty smell of blood.

"Isadora!" I heard Erynn gasp and she covered her mouth with both her hands.

2 deep growls came from Lucien and Jaycon. They both began to come towards me but Dimitri held up the blade in warning. His grip tightened on my arm painfully and I cringed as it caused more blood to trickle out of the cut.

"Don't come any closer or else the blade will be at her throat," Dimitri said and I wanted to fucking punch him in the eyeballs.

"Dimitri, let her go. There's no need to do anything reckless," Lucien tried to compromise in a calm tone.

Dimitri just laughed. The sound was not one bit pleasurable and was filled with cruel amusement.

"Reckless? Oh, Lucien, you're the only one that's reckless here," Dimitri said.

"Let her go. She has nothing to do with this," Lucien growled and his stormy eyes switched to becoming a hurricane.

"That's where you're wrong, my friend. She has everything to do with this. She's what I've been searching for all this time," Dimitri grinned and I tried to wriggle from his grasp but he tightened his hold on me more causing my arm to go numb.

"How did you even know where I was? Kaitleen and Bridgeth would never have told anyone where I was going," Lucien said.

"Ah, well. I have my sources and even you'd be surprised at how clueless you've been all along. The person has been under your nose for so long," Dimitri smirked.

Huh? Who could it be? It couldn't have been Kaitleen and Bridgeth, maybe the old driver of Lucien's, Reynold. But even that seemed unlikely.

I glanced at Jaycon, definitely not him since he looked like he was about to dismember Dimitri on the spot.

"You know what, I'll make this very easy for you. Let the person step out," Dimitri beckoned.

Nobody moved for a few seconds. I was beginning to think he was delusional. Then my eyes nearly popped out of my head. The person did step out.

And it was none other than Eefah.

Hello, my awesome readers! Terribly sorry for not updating sooner, my babies! :( I am super busy right now with the summer tests coming up. Sooo anyway, here's what I wanted to tell y'all.

I WILL do a sex scene BUT I will put it in a separate book because not everyone will want to read it and I don't want to give the younger readers a stroke. I really don't wanna owe anyone money for hospital bills, LOL! :P
I will tell y'all when you can read the sex scene and you can find it on my profile when I post it up. ;)
