Unlikely Mates -IM5 Fanfic

Prologue Part 1

"We have to get out before they find us!" Veronica said while hugging her stomach that contained her twins that were due any day now. "We can't go now it's too dangerous for you and the babies." Her husband was telling her while pacing around the bedroom. Both couples have been hiding from a group of human hunters that ended up finding out about them. The couple as well as the pack they were staying with were found when 2 human men found one of their own drinking the blood of a deer. Both men went to go follow the vampire that was found and they stumbled in a small town right outside their home woods. The word spread in the human world and now the 2 yet to be parents were trying to find a way to get away, but it was almost impossible without running into a human who was searching for any blood drinkers.

For a moment the couple stayed quiet not wanting to get caught, hoping that no one would find them. "Um...Marco, I think it's time." She told her husband as she was holding her stomach. Now the problem was about to happen. "We need to do this now if not then they both die with us." Marco said not really sure what was going to happen once his wife gave birth.

Before both knew it they were carrying their two beautiful baby twins. Marco was holding the girl who they both decided to name Blanca Morales. "A beautiful name for a beautiful girl like her." Marco said once they chose the name. Veronica was holding the boy who they wanted to name Gabriel Morales. "A strong ruler of this pack that protected us for so long." She said out loud once his name was chosen. They named him to become the protector of the family, but now they know that he will become the protector of his twin sister Blanca because both parents knew that soon they will be found and that these two babies were going to be taken from their home. At the moment though that didn't matter; to the young parents all that mattered was that both babies were asleep and safe in the arms of their parents.

Moments went by when they suddenly started hearing small noises getting louder. "The humans are on their way!" Marco said coming back from his lookout spot. Veronica knew then that they had to go put the babies somewhere safe and that she and her husband had to go and face their destinies, but before they went and did anything both parents said their last goodbyes to the kids they will never see grow up.

Veronica was holding baby Blanca when she gave her something that she was hoping to give her once she got to age. It was a necklace that has been in the family line for centuries and it was usually given once a girl goes through the change and gets her fangs. "I have been thinking about doing this for a long time, but I never thought that it would be like this." She told her sleeping child. "I thought we would be together. As well as hassle your dad about taking you out hunting that same night." Veronica could feel tears in her eyes ready to come out. "I love you so much and I know that this will be the only time I would get to see you and tell you that no matter what happens you have to never give up and that dad and I will always be with you." She had started crying and latching the necklace around her little baby girl's neck. "I love you Blanca, te quiero mucho." She said while giving her daughter a kiss.

Marco took his son to a different corner of the room. Everything around him seemed to be going in slow motion to give him more time with his only son. He was still asleep in his arms which he hoped would stay like that until they found a safe place for them. "Gabriel, a strong name for a future strong man." Marco said to him while imagining what his son would look like someday. "Son, right now you may not know what is going on and that your mother and I are actually saying goodbye to you and your sister." He said while feeling a little choked about realizing that he will never see his children grow up. "I might be putting a lot of responsibility on you when I say that you are now in charge of taking care of your sister." He could only imagine what they both would look like when they are older. "You both are twins and that should be the glue to keep you guys to stay together." At that moment he got a feeling that both babies might get separated. "Even if you guys lose each other never give up on trying to find her." That was the last thing Marco wanted to think about was having their only children lose each other. "As long as you know you have a sister you will be able to find her and if you don't then your twin instinct will warn you like it is now." Marco didn't know what had him saying that his children won't even know each other later, but he tried to shake that feeling. He took off a ring that was similar to the one Veronica had which he was sure that she gave to Blanca. "I was supposed to give this to you once you were of age and you have turned into a full grown vampire, but with what's going on and about what's going to happen I think this is a good moment." He put a necklace chain through a ring and put it over the baby. "Right now it doesn't fit, but once it does you will know what it means and then you'll understand the responsibilities of a full grown vampire." He gave his son a kiss on the forehead as well a feel himself lose a tear coming from his eyes.

Both parents switched babies, but before they could say anything they heard people coming. "Veronica we have to go. now!" Marco said starting to freak out a little since they still have not put their children in a safe place. They both looked at each other and left the comfort of their own safe home. They left the house to see everything around them destroyed. Before they could do anything else a group of humans saw them and started to heading towards them with blinding anger in their eyes. They tried to scare them away by threatening to bite them, but that only made the humans more determined to get rid of the unnatural beings that are taking over everything that was normal to them.

They looked at each other knowing that the only way to keep their babies alive is to split up. They gave each other that look that said that it was the only thing they could do to protect the babies. Before the humans noticed the couple gave one last look at each other before going their separate ways. Veronica had baby Gabriel who was still asleep, but was now stirring in her arms. She found a small cave, but what she didn't know was that it was a cave where a young werewolf couple go into to change forms. She was settling the baby down when she heard a growl from behind her. She knew it was risky to even leave her child here because werewolves and vampires have always hated each other. "Please don't do anything, I'm not here as an enemy, but as a desperate mother," She said pleading to the couple to not hurt her baby. This couple were still in wolf form so the only respond to her was a slight tilt of their heads. "Some humans found our small village and are attacking any vampire they see. He and his sister were just born and we didn't have time to escape." She explained. "It's only a matter of time before the find my child and I don't want to put your pack to get discovered as well." She was hoping that the wolves would understand her please. "I would never ask the enemy for help unless it was important, please take care of him, I can't leave my husband to die with my baby girl." She was on her knees while crying.

She didn't realize how much emotion she was holding in until that moment. She was weeping when she suddenly heard something come close to her. The couple has already formed back into their human bodies and were standing kneeling right next to her. "We will protect him for you, so now go say good bye and try to save your daughter" She was surprised, but so glad that they agreed to do this. "Thank you. His name is Gabriel." She said when she got next to her son. "His sister is named Blanca, please try to find her. They shouldn't be kept apart." She said getting up and heading to go find her husband. She didn't look back knowing that if she did she would never go back to her mate.
