Chapter 1

Gabe's P.O.V

"Gabe!? Gabe!? GGGAAABBBEEEE!?!?!" That was all that I could hear coming through my door. I knew already it was Cole coming to wake me up so we could go to our college classes. "Wake up or we're gonna be late!" I heard him say as he started pounding on the door. "I'm up and stop hitting the door!" I yelled back taking my covers off. "Hey Gabe, can I come in?" Gabe smiled because although Cole is only a year younger than him he likes to act as if he was much younger. "Sure yo...." Before I could get that whole sentence out Cole was already on my bed.

Cole was always like this, but that really wasn't his choice to act like he was a little kid. This was his wolf who always wanted to run and never really grow up. I was never really bothered because he was always so much fun to be around with. "Hey, so mom said that we have to go hunting later today cause we are kinda running low on your supply on blood and I kind of want some fresh meat right now." He said while I was grabbing some clothes for the day. When I turned around I saw Cole tossing around my ring. "Cole, what did I tell you about playing with my stuff, especially something you know that is very important to me." I didn't like and rarely ever get mad at Cole just because Cole is one of those people you could never get mad at. I learned that without wanting to Cole shows what I like to call his puppy dog eyes. It was another thing that Cole couldn't control. "I'm sorry Gabe, I saw it on your nightstand and well before I knew it I had it in my hands." Cole had his puppy dog eyes and it was clear he didn't know they were showing. "It's fine just give it to me." I said sticking my hand out so Cole could give me my ring.

I know it is weird to get worked up about a ring, but that was the only thing I had left from my birth parents. You see I'm a vampire and I live with werewolves, The Pendery Pack to be more specific. Cole's mom, Terese, had told Cole and I the whole story about how in a moment of panic she found the hideout Cole's mom and dad were using so they could go hunting in their wolf form. They told me that vampires and werewolves didn't get along with each other, why? That was something that was unknown, I guess it's an instinct that both sides are born with, but because I was raised by them that instinct died out of me so I don't feel the threat of werewolves. They said that at the moment she didn't care who they were, but as long as they were able to help me, her only son, then she could trust them. Before they told me any of this I've been calling them mom and dad because although I knew that I wasn't like them I've always saw them as my actual parents.

It was my 18th birthday when they told me and before then everything was great. They told me that they wouldn't have told me, but then they gave me the biggest surprise that I would never have guessed. They told me everything that happened in the confrontation with my birth mother and she told them that I had a twin sister. Apparently she had to split up with my birth father because a group of humans had come to their village with their mind set to destroy all the vampires. How did they know all this? They were told most of the info when they saw here in their cave, but the rest was what they could figure out on their own. She told them that her name was Blanca, but that was it.

They said that they wanted to go find her after they got the word that all the humans have left the vampire area, but when they went to go check nothing was saved. Everything was burned and whatever was left of a vampire was gone. They tried looking around the area, but they still couldn't find her. Scott, Cole's dad, had others from his pack to look for her around the city, but since they had little info on what my birth parents actually did with her, it was kind of impossible for them to find her. When I got the news I didn't know how to feel. At first I was confused about it all being real or if they were just messing with me. Then I felt a sudden joy because now I knew that I had actual other family members other than my birth parents. Along with those feelings came mostly sadness. I didn't like that I was separated with my sister especially since we're twins which meant we both shared the same DNA. Cole shared that feeling because he knew how much it hurt for me as well as he is being reminded that his brother figure is neither is actual brother or the same species.
