I was late to Lunch after my encounter with Tyler, but all is still well.
"Hey Cassie!" I looked back at Jace excited.
"Hey Jace!" I said back embracing him in a hug. "Sorry for the other weekend," I apologized, "He's never like that, that's the first time i've seen him drunk in ages." I stretched.
"Haha it's ok, my Dad's drunk every day." Jace smiled Sheepishly.
"Oh." I lightly laughed, "You're very foward."
"What other way is there to be?"
I looked at Jace sad all the sudden, I had found out from my friends what his past was like, an abusive father that beat him everyday, and his mother was shot a month ago trying to get away from some Men the dad owed Money to.
I don't know what came over me but I embraced him in a hug.
"I know you're still sad." I said to him, "Cause I know what it's like."
Jace nodded.
I grabed his hand and squeezed it giving him a slight smile.
"Let's get out of here." I said tugging him with me.
"What?" He laughed.
"Yeah, let's ditch school." I smiled.
Jace finally complied to walk with me.
"Only if you say so."
"Let's do it." I smiled.
Still holding his hand I drapped it over my shoulder, "Where do you want to go?" I asked.
"Anywhere but here." He chuckled.
"Good, Starbucks it is." I smiled.
Jace just laughed, "Coffee's on me."
