I looked at the time on my alarm clock that my dad got me recently.

9:24

"Great." I muttered. I laid back on my bed resting my eyes.

It felt so good to lay down that I actually forgot about my dad for awhile. I was right on the brink of sleep when I heard the familiar ding of the door bell.

I bounded off my bed and ran down the hall. I reached the front door in no time. "Dad why would you use the front-"

"Oh." I took a step back. Caught completely off guard. It was just Jace.

Wait, just Jace? How did he find my house?

"What would a fine boy, such as yourself, be doing at a loser's house like mine on a Friday night at...." I peered behind the door to see the clock and estimated 9:45. "9:45pm?" I finished.

"Actually it's 9:47, and you are anything but a loser."

Aw.

"How'd you find my house?" I asked suspiciously.

Jace blushed, "It's a small town." He chuckled nervously.

Aww I made him nervous.

"I forgot to return something." He placed something in my hand but I didn't look down at it.

"Would you like to come in?" I asked.

"Uhh is your parents home?"

"What my father?" I had totally forgotten. "Oh Jesus no. He's been gone for so long I've actually been worried for quite some time." I peered at the clock again nervously. "In fact I'm going to go look for him right now." I grabbed my keys off the wall chain.

"What? Dressed like that?" He asked staring at my pajamas.

I was wearing a pink tank top and some blue pink and purple stripped shorts.

I started to feel self conscious and reddened at the comment.

"At least change." He said.

"It's all I have," i said. "I'm not really in the mood to explain how I broke the washing machine. But I'm pleased to inform you I'm going to the cleaners tommorow."

I ran around the porch lockin the door in the process and walked over to my moped.

"Wait let me take you." Jace said.

"Oh no Jace I couldn't."

"Yeah it's nothing."

"Jace really I can fend for myself."

"Well I don't want you to get raped or anything. You have no idea why this place is like at nighttime and I'd hate for a sweet person such as yourself to fall in consequence of such violence."

Suddenly Jaces words made sense to me. He cared.

I stopped for a second weighing my options.

"Ok." I gave in. "But I'm at least paying for gas." I smiled.

He smiled back.

I was just about to get into the car when my dad pulled up.
