Jace's POV

About four months after Laylee had been taken, we were starting to lose hope. Caine would just sit on the couch in the living room and stare out the window. He looked so broken and I wanted to help him, but the only thing that could fix him was having his mate back in his arms. I knew that if I let myself relax for even a second, I'd become exactly like him, so I kept myself busy all the time. I was sitting at my desk one day when I got the warning.

Alpha, there's a rogue on the territory.

How many?

Just one, and it's running straight for the pack house.

Immediately after that warning, there was chaos in the main room. I ran out and saw Caine pinning someone against the wall by their throat. By the smell of it, they were rogue. I stepped up next to my brother to see a girl of maybe fourteen struggling in his grasp.

"Caine, let go."

"But-"

"Now!" I used my Alpha tone and his hand released her immediately. She fell to the ground and started coughing. "What brings you to my territory, rogue?"

"Are you... the Blakely... brothers?"

"Yes."

"Thank god." She shakily got to her feet and looked up at both Caine and I. "They have them. The rogues."

"Yes, we know. How do you?"

"I was born into their stupid "pack" and was never allowed out of their sight. But, as soon as I saw them take the two girls, I knew I had to get to you. However, I didn't have any money and so I had to run away. It took me four months because I can't shift yet. I'm sorry that it's so late, but I can bring you to them."

Caine looked up at me and I saw hope shining in his eyes. "Jace, can we just try? I'm not going to let an opportunity to get them back slip through my fingers."

"Yes, we'll go. She's told the truth. Caine, gather our best fighters and I'll get us all plane tickets." I turned back to the girl. "What's your name?"

"Kaya. Kaya Monty."

"Okay, Kaya. Tell me about the pack of rogues."

"The Alpha is Aiden Card and the Beta is James Reynolds. There's-"

"James Reynolds?" My anger rose and I had to stop myself from shifting and ripping everything apart.

James Reynolds hated my brother and I for taking down his pack once we found out that they were harboring humans for sex slaves. We thought we had killed every last member, but James had gotten away. He then came back one night and killed out parents while they were out on a patrol together. Later we found out that his mate had been killed, and she had been carrying his unborn child.

To say the least, if James had our mates, they were in danger.

"Yes, sir. That's why I had to risk being killed to find you. He always spoke of taking you down, but then I over heard him commanding our fighters to take your mates. I didn't believe that he'd be able to do it, until I saw them dragging two unconscious women into the basement cages. We must hurry though, because if Aiden stops guarding them for even a second, James could kill them."

Forget the plane, we're running.

I mind-linked my brother, then shifted into my dark-grey wolf and bent down to let Kaya climb onto my back. She understood that she'd have to give directions after we lost her scent. About twenty of us took off in the direction that Kaya had come in at, my brother and I leading the way.

We were about to get our mates back.
