Jace's POV
Four months later
I rubbed my eyes as Caine paced across my office. Everyone was mad that I'd kicked out my Luna, but they also understood what had happened and why I had been so harsh. They were mad that she'd lied, but because she was so kind to the pack, they hoped that she had had a good reason.
Now she was missing and in pain. My trackers had followed her scent up to a clearing, but it was lost after that. Rogues were everywhere, even though they were weakened by the Sun's daughter's death. I clenched my jaw as pain laced across my ribs, but it was her pain, not mine. My wolf whimpered knowing that if he hadn't ran her off she'd still be here.
"Tell me if they are any closer." I demanded through clenched teeth.
Caine's head snapped up and his eyes narrowed. "Again? Wasn't she just hurt half an hour ago? This one is out of schedule..."
He was right. I only ever felt the pain from nine in the morning to noon, never before or after. Yet I just felt her pain and it was nearing one in the afternoon. "Caine, the update."
"Right. The trackers have found a cave that holds her scent, but only faintly. Also, there was screaming coming from inside."
I stood up, ignoring the pain that stripped across my back. A whip. "Round up the warriors. We're getting my wife and the Luna back."
Laylee's POV
I spat the blood out of my mouth and tilted my head back to look up at Dominic, the Rogue that had kidnapped me. He wiped his hand off on the towel that was thrown over his shoulder. The other women in the cages were sobbing for my pain, they all saw me as their Luna so if their Luna was hurt, they hurt. These past months have made me realize that I did actually have something to fight Dominic for. I had to take care of these women, and I had to get back to my pups.
"Someone needs to learn their place around here."
There was howling outside the cave. Dominic snarled and threw the bloody towel over my face and left the room, leaving me chained the the wall. One woman tossed me a hairpin after I'd gotten the towel off my head. I got the chains off, then moved over to the cages and picked the locks, letting them out.
"C'mon, we're getting away from here."
A small hand gripped mine and I smiled down at the three year old. The little girl was the product of Dominic raping one of the women, but she was a blessing to us all. Little Baylor was our entertainment when Dominic was gone and a distraction when he was around.
I picked Baylor up and set her on my back, then led the women out the prison room and towards the mouth of the cave. The sound of fighting echoed in the cave. Baylor's grip on my shoulders tightened as I leaned around the corner to see Dominic surrounded by familiar wolves. My pack. Well, my old pack.
"Oh, your mate is missing? I don't know if I've seen her or not... What does she look like?" Dominic smirked at my mate who was standing next to Caine's wolf, glaring at Dominic.
"Give her back."
"If I recall, she told me you got rid of her. If that's the case, then no. I'd like to keep her."
"She's mine! My mate, my wife, mine! So give her back or-"
"Or what? You'll kill me? I think you're planning on that anyways."
"You bastard, give me my mate!"
Dominic snarled. He never liked being called names so it came as no surprise when he shifted and lunged at Jace. My mate kicked him into the cave and he skidded to a stop at our feet. He shifted back and grabbed Baylor off my back as hostage and safety from both sides. I growled and chased him out of the cage, aware that now all eyes were on me. My eyes were now the traditional red that rogues had and my hair was knotted horribly. I must look so Luna-like.
