Chapter 16 (Around Town)

Hey guys this is chapter 16, don't really know how it will turn out. Just so you know the part in italics is when Jacob is dreaming. K hope you enjoy it!

Jacob's Point of View

It's dark, so very dark. I can barely see my hand in front of my face. "HEY IS ANYONE THERE" I yelled out hoping to have some type of response. I then started to hear footsteps, and they were becoming louder and closer! I tried to see who it was but this damn darkness wasn't helping. The footsteps got closer and closer until I was sure that whomever it was was going to run into me.

They stopped short and finally the black void surrounding the person moved to show them. My heart stopped when I saw who it was, it was my ex. She stood there with hatred in her eyes, so much hatred that I thought she was going to set me on fire with just her gaze! "You killed me. You killed me just because you were scared!" she said so coldly. I was about to protest, but before I could I felt something hard hit me in the stomach.

I fell to my knees and struggled to regain my breath. When I looked up I saw Luke standing above with a smug look of satisfaction on his face. "Ha now that you're one of those freaks I can beat you without getting in trouble" he said and struck me again in the gut. I screamed and begged for him to stop but he never did. I then heard another voice come up from behind Luke and recognized it as my father's voice! "Good job son, beat this worthless piece of shit into nothing! You're a much better son than he ever was!" said my father into Luke's ear.

The beating stopped after a while and when I looked up I saw a woman facing away from me. I got up and moved over to her, I wished that I hadn't though. It was my mom, she had tears in her eyes and avoided my touch. "Mom why are you crying? Please tell me I want to help" I said as tears started to pool in my own eyes. "You are not my son, not anymore, not after everything you've done" she said and slapped across my cheek when I tried to hug her!

When I recovered from the blow I looked around and saw that she was gone, vanished into thin air like the others. A house then pooped up and a fire along with it. I had to look really hard but I was sure I saw someone in the window! It was Jacky!!! I started running to her but was stopped by a circle of fire surrounding me! "HELP ME JACOB, HELP!!!" yelled Jacky but I couldn't do anything!!

It was getting so hot and I was about to pass out but I needed to save her! I then felt a nice cooling sensation but didn't know where it was coming from. It kept me conscious, conscious enough to see the end. An explosion erupted in the house and Jacky screamed at the top of her lungs in pain!

I shot up in bed screaming Jacky's name and panting. I was covered in a thick layer of sweat from head to toe. I looked over and saw that I wasn't the only one in my bed, Luca was sitting beside me with a concerned look. "Jacob are you ok?" he asked gently. I shook my head no, I don't know why but I couldn't lie to him about this. "Can I get you anything, maybe some water?" he continued and touched my shoulder.

I relaxed into his touch in less than a second and said "no I just.....I just need some more sleep" and began laying back down. "Oh ok....um....goodnight Jacob" he said and got up to go back to his own bed. When his hand left my shoulder I felt nervous and scared again. I reached out and grabbed his wrist whispering "p-please don't g-go, I'm st-still..." I couldn't even finish my sentence I was so freaked out by my nightmare.

Luca seemed to understand and sat back down beside me asking "ok I won't leave, but what can I do to help?" I honestly didn't know what he could do other than stay with me through the night, but I couldn't ask him that. "Of course you can, I don't mind" he said smiling gently at me. Shit I thought out loud again, but I guess in this case it's a good thing. He moved under the blanket and laid down facing me. I was to caught up in fear to care that I scooted into his arms and listened to his heart beat. His breath hitched and for a minute I thought he was going to push me off, but nope he just started rubbing my arm and whispering comforting words. I soon fell asleep in his arms, not having a single nightmare the rest of the night.
