Chapter 6 (Beginnings and Endings)

Jacob's Point of View

I hate crying which is why it was such a surprise that I was crying over the fact that I beat up someone and not just someone a super-human. I guess I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't even hear the door open and someone walk in. When they sat on the end of my bed I looked up a saw that it was my sister who came in. She had a sad expression on her face with puffy red eyes and tears streaks showing that she did end up crying.

"Hey Jake, you ok?" she asked so softly and with so much care. I sat up and faced her. I didn't care if she saw me cry, she was the one person I could lean on and tell everything to when I needed to. "Yeah I'm fine. Just a little upset." "What about? Is it because you beat up that kid?"

I snapped at this, don't know why but I did. "He is not a kid. He was a freak and deserved what happened to him!" I yelled. Her expression didn't change except that she looked like she was trying to find the right words to say. "Well yes he did have powers, but shouldn't you be happy about it if you feel the same way about them as dad and your girlfriend?"

I knew that what they said should have made me feel good about myself but it did the opposite, it made me feel horrible. "Well then maybe you feel like he didn't deserve what you and those guys did to him." she said almost as if she could read my mind! I gave her a weird look when she said that and said "how did you know what I was thinking?" The just laughed "because you said it out loud, idiot." "Wow didn't know I did that" I told her. "You do it more often than you think, like this morning during breakfast. By the way I am not a drama queen, I prefer to be a drama princess!" We laughed at this for a couple seconds before I got quiet again.

"Do you think what I did was right Jacky?" I asked with hopes that she would say yes. "Do you want my honest opinion?" she asked and I nodded. "Well then no." Wow she is blunt. "But he's just like those guys who killed dads sister!" I explained. "How so? Was he killing someone, hurting someone or even being mean to someone?" she asked with a serious face. Now that she mentioned it he was rather nice, scared, but nice.

"Well no but..." I said but was cut off by her "No buts then he was probably just an innocent kid, by the way you said the last thought out loud to." I looked down at my sheets as new tears began to form in my eyes. Jacky saw this and instantly hugged me as tight as she could whispering comforting words to me.

Our sibling moment was ruined when my girlfriend yelled up the stairs announcing that she is going to leave. Uh, honestly I was getting tired of her, she was becoming to clingy and to much of a diva for me. "Then why don't you break up with her?" my sister asked me right after I finished that thought. "Shit, did I say that out loud again?" I asked and she simply replied with a nod. 

"I think I might but I don't know how or when" I stated honestly. "Well just sit down and talk to her and do it as soon as possible because honestly I never liked her" "Thanks Jacky I think I'll do it tomorrow" in fact I had already planed on it. "Ok bro get some sleep. Tomorrow will be better you'll see" she said and left with a hug. I fell asleep while thinking of that boy and wondering how in the world I could make something like that up not only to myself but too him as well.

(The next morning)

I woke up refreshed and relaxed, much better than how I was feeling last night. Just then the memories of what my sister and I talked about went through my mind, including my decision to break up with my girlfriend. I jumped out of bed and got ready in record time. When I looked outside I saw that it was raining, again! What is it with this city and rain?

I ran downstairs and grabbed a quick breakfast with my sister and flew out of the door, haha not literally because I don't have superpowers. As I was walking down the street I kept thinking that I don't want to get wet again because mom would kill me if she saw more wet clothes. In that instant the rain started to fall down around me instead of on me! I was starting to get worried but these feelings all left when I saw that my feet had automatically taken me to my girlfriends house. I knocked on the door and within seconds it opened to reveal a girl who looked like she had a war with her makeup, that girl was my girlfriend.

"Hey I need to speak with you, now" I said to her and a look of fear passed her face. "Um right now is not really a good time. We have someone over" she said so nervous that she was literally shaking. "It will only take a minute I promise!" I begged her. "Hey babe, who's at the door?" said a strange voice from inside. "No one just the neighbor!" she yelled as quickly as she could trying to muffle out his voice so I couldn't hear. "Who's in there with you because I know that your dad is not here?" I asked getting more confused by the minute.

Then a man no older than me comes to the door and slings his arm across her shoulders "Hey I'm Luke. I just moved in with my girlfriend here!" he said excitedly. WHAT!? "YOU'RE CHEATING ON ME!!??" I yelled at the top of my lungs. "Jacob I'm so sorry. I was going to tell you last night but you ran out before I could tell you." she said with tears in her eyes. "You know what you're lucky that I came over here to break up with you but now I'm glad that I did because now I get to what a whore you are!" I said to her.

Next thing I know is that I'm lying on the ground with blood pouring out of my nose. "Don't call her that or you'll get worse!" Luke growled at me. "Why not I was just telling the truth" SHIT! Why did I have to open my big mouth! What happened next seemed to go so slow, just like my dream.

Luke and grabbed my shirt and pulled back his fist ready to beat me into nothing. I started thinking 'make him stop' over and over again in my head. Then the worst thing could have happened, a blast of water came form the sky and knocked Luke back into the house with enough force to make a dent in the wall. I stood up and looked around to see if there was anyone else around, there wasn't. Then it was like a light bulb turned on in my head, I was the one who did that!
