September 14th,
I rushed to get to school early. I arrived twenty minutes before the bell for first period rang. I spent the time wondering the halls looking for Anabella. When I found her she was sitting on a windowsill writing in a notebook. I walked over and sat next to her. “Hey” I said trying to get her attention. She looked up at me, smiled, and waved. Then she went back to writing. “What’re you writing?” I asked peering into her notebook. The title read simply, “The World”. I smiled and nodded my head saying, “Cool title. Is that for writing class?” She shook her head yes. “Do you mind if I read it?” I asked. She closed her notebook and held it to her chest shaking her head no. “Can I read it when it’s finished?” I questioned curiously. She paused for a moment, thought about it and then shook her head no again. “Are you going to have someone read it to the class?” I asked trying to find some way that I was going to be able to read her work. She shook her head no again. I let it go.
The light from the sun that came through the window formed a sort of halo around her head. She looked at me and her eyes sparkled. She was beautiful. For reasons I don’t know or understand, there was a feeling inside me that wanted to spend all day just sitting there staring at her. I had to find a way to spend more time with her. “What class are you going to?” I asked quickly. She held up her algebra notebook. “May I have the honor of walking you to class?” I asked in a fake accent. She smiled and blushed then nodded her head yes. She jumped off the windowsill and I picked up her books and carried them. I held out my arm and she held onto it. We walked down the hallway like a fancy couple that was walking into a ball. It was marvelously wonderful.
