Why has high school gone by so fast? I was going to be senior! In a year I will be graduating high school and I have no clue what I’m going to do with my life. I have no plan for college, no plan for a career, no plan for life in general. I’m more of an in the moment guy.
Anabella and I were in my car riding home after school when that thought came into my head. What am I going to do with my life? I pulled up to her house and she was about to get out when I asked, “Anabella, what do you want to do with your life? Like what do you want to be? Where do you want to live? Stuff like that.” She put her bag in her lap and signed, ‘I want to be a writer. I would love to live somewhere, anywhere, everywhere all over the world.’
“But how are you going to get there? Like how,” she put her hand over my mouth telling me to stop talking. ‘That’s the beauty in life. It takes you where it wants to. If you have an idea of what you want and you’re willing to work a little, life will do the rest and get you there.’ I had an idea now.
“Anabella, I’m going to take you wherever you want to go. You want to go to Europe, we’re there. You want to go to Australia, I’ll take you there. Let’s explore this world together. Let’s go on adventures together. And then with the things we’ve discovered and the experiences we’ve had, let’s write and let’s share with everyone what the world has to offer. Who knows, maybe we’ll inspire people to go off and find out the things we’ve yet to learn. Let’s go. You and me, let’s go have an adventure that lasts the rest of our lives.”
‘You’re crazy and I love it. Life’s already an adventure. Maybe you’ll see that one day.’ She got out of the car and turned back around to me. ‘That’s not a bad way to live though. I think, when we graduate, I’ll take you up on your offer. Let’s live life to its fullest and even when we’ve grown old it’ll still be and adventure, because we’re together.’ She blew me a kiss and walked away. I knew what my life was going to be. It was going to be an adventure as long as I was with her.
