Chapter 5~Liam
Ever since I ran into Parker in the alleyway five days ago, she has been on my mind more than ever. Now, I know that she doesn’t want to be found, and that she’s living on the streets. Who does that? I want to know so badly what happened, but she didn’t seem up for story time. I didn’t tell the boys. Parker asked me not to say anything to anyone, right? I was going to keep my promise.
Today, the lads and I were heading to the beach since it was much warmer today. It hadn’t rained in a while and we really like Miami. It’s a great city with great people. After all of us packed up and met at Niall’s flat, piled in the car—it was easier to take one vehicle—we headed to the gas station. Niall forgot to put gas in his car, and the light was on.
“How do you forget to put gas in your car?” Louis laughed from the back seat. I was in the passenger seat. In the back was Zayn, Louis in the middle and Harry. Harry was probably texting Amabel. They were constantly having some kind of contact. It was cute, actually. Harry seemed to be a different person when he was around his girlfriend. He was happy.
“I don’t know!” Niall said. “It must have slipped my mind or somethin’.”
I turned on the radio; a song I didn’t know was playing. “So Liam,” Zayn said. “Have you seen Parker?”
I straightened at the name of her name. “Um…”
“OH MY GOD! He has! Look at him, he’s blushing!” Niall cried.
“Okay, are we a bunch of teenage girls?” I snapped.
“Do you know where she is?” Harry asked.
“Yeah. I ran into her yesterday but I can’t tell you where she is.”
“Why not?” Niall said.
“She doesn’t want to be found.” I explained.
Harry scoffed. “She’s crazy.”
“She’s not crazy,” I defended her; “she’s been through a lot. She won’t tell me what exactly, but I need to know.”
“Mate, you hardly know her.” Zayn pointed out.
I sighed, and looked out the window as we pulled into the gas station. “She’s different.”
Louis laughed humorlessly. “That’s what I said about Eleanor before she cheated on me. Don’t waste your time, mate.”
“Louis!” Harry scolded. “Don’t be an arse.”
I shook my head. What Louis went through was horrible. When we went out one time, Louis saw Eleanor with a guy named Chuck, and apparently they had been having an affair for a long time. Louis was crushed, but Amabel really helped him get through it. That’s why Louis and her were such close friends. As for Niall, no one knows what’s going on between him and his girlfriend, Sam. Things have been shaky lately and Niall is completely in the dark. I hope things work out.
Louis, Zayn and Harry stay in the car while Niall filled up the tank. “Hey, Liam, can you get me water or something?” Louis asked. I groaned. He was always asking people to do this for him; lazy boy.
“Sure.” I said, a pocketed the few dollars he put into my hand. I got out of the car and jogged to the general store that was in front of the gas station. I aimlessly walked through the aisles, looking for the drinks that were most likely in the back.
As I was glancing around, I saw someone —who looked like a girl— with her hood up and putting things into a basket. I frowned and came closer. It looked like Parker. A smile played on my lips as I tapped on her shoulder. She swiveled around and her eyes widened when she saw me. “What are you doing here?” She whispered frantically.
