Christopher POV

"I honestly just don't understand what to do" I said exasperated, truly feeling clueless. I was currently speaking to my beta Jacob, to see if he could suggest anything to deal with this 'Isabella' situation.

"Look dude, I think you just gotta calm down and give her some time and space" Jacob reasoned.

"You know that's going to be hard. She's my bloody mate. My possession" I said, feeling slightly defensive that Jacob would consider distancing me from what is rightfully mines.

"Yeah I know that and you know that. And we all understand that. But you've got to think it from Isabella's perspective. She's a human -"

"You think I don't know that. I gave her freedom and we even created a deal. But what does she do? She goes to the garage. God knows what she was trying to do in that abandoned place!" I said frustrated.

"Okay you're right. Her behaviour is quite suspicious and we should keep an eye on her. But not to the extent she's aware we're keeping an eye on her. We're werewolves and she's a human so that's possible" Jacob explained

"Hmm" I nodded, catching his drift.

"So we make her think she does have freedom but truly we keep a watch on her"

"Yeah because she is a human. So if we interfere with her a lot, she'll just try to escape again. You be good enough to her, she'll end up liking this place and she won't even have a reason or desire to escape. Besides what did you say to make her stay?" He said, slightly amused and curious at my explanation.

"I made up some traditional bogus story that my father wants a good daughter-in-law and what not. But it is partially true since we all desire a good Luna" I said, arching my eyebrows.

Jacob chuckled at my explanation "yeah I guess that is true. So what are you going to tell the rest of the pack and family?"

"I'll warn those at the patrolling borders about her. They have to know since she might try to escape. That way she'll always return to me. You know and just warn your mate, Emmet, Dylan and Sophie about her. That way they can all help to keep an eye on her. Keep her comfy and ensure she doesn't escape"

He nodded at my commands.

"I'll decide who else needs to know later. But for the time being, I want the mansion to be empty. Just me and mate, the guys and their mates (my five close friends, including Jacob). Since we got all the formalities done, the rest of the pack members are going to be leaving back to their homeland anyways and the others can reside in the neighbouring homes"

"Do you want me to start telling everyone to pack?"

"No. They'll all be leaving anyways, just give them till the end of the week. The more spacious it is, the less likely Isabella would feel intimidated. And she might actually stay here"

"What about your family?"

"Oh god, I don't know. If they found out I kidnapped a girl, God knows how they would react. Especially my father. And what would they do if they knew she was a human! I honestly don't know" I said, feeling frustrated again at this situation "And I can't even trust Isabella. What if she blurts something out or tells my family I kidnapped her. God"

"Chris, leave your family to me. I'll handle it. I'm sure they'll understand the situation and they can't do anything about her being a human. I'll explain everything to them and then you can explain it again" he offered.

"Thanks. And that's why your my beta" I said, offering a small friend. I truly was lucky to have Jacob as a friend. He's been my friend since diaper days and the bond remains strong.

"Glad to help. So is everything sorted?"

"Yeah. Now it's just about dealing with Isabella and her tantrums" I sighed.

"Don't worry about that. Just give her some space and time. It will all work out" he chuckled, clearly not understand how frustrating and aggravating Isabella could be. She was like an annoying sibling except that she's worse. And I couldn't do anything about it, since she was my mate.

"I don't know. She tries escaping every ten minutes so I wouldn't count on that"

"Just trust me okay"

"I trust you but not her"

"She's a human so it's all bit confusing to her. She doesn't understand the situation"

"I know do you think she will ever understand or feel the mate pull?"

"I don't know Chris. I never heard of an Alpha being paired with a human. I don't know how it works. But I did a bit of research on it. Apparently she will gradually feel a pull towards you and that's when the mate pull hits"

"Well I hope that's true and I hope it doesn't take too long"

"Are you ever going to tell her about us? Being werewolves? He asked curiously.

"I don't know. I would just have to give it a bit of time and just hope that all works gradually. It will all have to be circumstantial" I sighed.

He nodded, understanding the complexity of the situation.

"Well good night Jacob. It's been a long night and thanks for the help"

"Any time, pal. Just have a little patience and faith" he chuckled as he made his way out.

I chuckled back. Only he knew how truly impatient I was. He saw all my ups and downs and still stuck with me. It's countless for the amount of times I lashed out on Jacob. He stuck with me and now Isabella need to as well.
