Everywhere I see is raging fire- rising on the walls and reaching the door, which is my only way out, and yet I have lost it. I scrabble for a save place stuck in the room- now wrapped in the arms of fierce orange flames.
Help! Help!
I can't see Ragenite anywhere. I am afraid if she has runaway to save her own life.
As I slowly make pass the burning bed, a long piece of wood, screaming in scorching fire, suddenly topples on my arm, and I shout in extreme pain.
Just then I bolt awake from my dream. Sweat pops on my skin, and pulse rate increases. I quiver seeing my arm. Though it is perfectly fine, I still feel it going numb like it is caught on fire. I scan the room and the ceiling. Everything is beyond untouched. Dead like the night I have seen before going to sleep.
I take a sigh. Martha is sleeping soundly next to me while I am uneasy. Even then I wonder-why didn't Ragenite come to save me.
Thinking, I scramble out of bed, watchfully landing my feet on the floor and hoist the body.
I come out of the room and trek down the stairs in dead silence. By the wall, there is light illuminating the floor outside Ragenite's room.
Is she still awake? I think. How long have I been sleeping?
I shift to the wall, passing by furtively.
I rub my eyes to toss away the mist of slumber and move towards the room burning in the Orange light.
I see through the slightly opened door, catching the view of inside from the small space, but I barely see anything, so I give the door a fluttering push and it swings out of the way.
Without the need of wandering my attention to somewhere else, I halt to the sight of Ragenite, head laid on the desk and eyes closed. She sounds like she is snoring, but she is breathing heavily- chest bellying and falling back.
The room does not seem to be jumbled in chaos. It appears usual, only few things out of order, and rest laying in their place.
I sneak in through the door, gently stepping on the floorboards, keeping it from creating noise. I look around inquiringly, piercing glances. Then I wonder why have I come here. I close my eyes, and search from where the dream began. Mostly the nightmare. I kind of remember when Ragenite screams the horrifying word- fire. When I try to catch up to her call, that scorching fire has started to climb up to my room, coming for me. I immediately slam the door, and runaway to the farthest distance. Unfortunately, the walls restrict me from keep moving on. I push back against one of them as swirling terror surrounds me.
I open my eyes, eluding to experience the tragedy again. I feel my heart beat increase. My feet are hovering as I shudder in squirming fear. I squeeze my arms in fold across the chest, tightening it like they would be snatched away from me.
I begin to walk out of the room, that suddenly, I trip over one of the sticking out nail and fall to the door, holding the knob. As I retrieve back on my feet, I take a glimpse of Ragenite over my shoulder. She moves under the distraction, and her eyes blink open.
I quickly sneak out before she runs her attention to me.
As I speed up to my room, I hear the resenting shout chase my back.
"Hey, you! What are you doing?!"
When I am about to close the door, I catch a sight of Ragenite, erupting in anger, stalking up to my room.
I immediately bash the door and throw the lock on it. A chaos builds over in the thin air, waking everything to life. I nervously charge here and there, as the fists start banging and the rough voice crashes the serene of early morning.
"What were you doing in my room?" She sounds like she is whipping the poor person for the cost of breaking rule.
Why did I go in there? I think to myself. I regret for my very mistake.
I see Martha jolting on the bed, lost in the tremendous confusion. She seems to breath harder- chest heaving at every pound on the door. Even then she stays there, strictly forming fists, while her eyes are big as an owl- taking note of every move.
When she looks at me, I put a finger over my taped lips, telling her to stay quiet.
She nods in admit, but is unsure. I pull away from the door and advance toward her.
"I accidentally went in to her room, that's why she is angry." I briefly explain.
Instead she would say something, she holds still, reluctant of moving her mouth.
We both sit frozen at one side of the bed, eyes widen at the door. Ragenite doesn't go away until I sense the day getting bright, tossing a shaft of light through the gaps in the window. The noise hovers down to tranquility, and I drop my shoulders in sigh. The second thing I am afraid of after this is, what impact does it have on Martha. What might she be going through. Have I put her in even worse trouble, or have I taken her out of her problems.
I am lost miles away of without having anything to stop myself from going perpetually far. I slightly shake myself out of this, and look forth. I realize Martha is directly looking at me, filled with questions. She simply stares without a word. I manage to look down to her lap in a growing shame, and betrayal.
I should have told her before. But when was the time?
"I know you might be hating me for where I brought you. I should have told you before, but."
"No. It's not that." Her lips quiver to life, but they are still horrified to compete with the spoken words. "I could never imagine that these things happen here and you live like this. You were all alone before me."
"I know. But don't you feel even a little betrayed?"
"Not at all. You helped me out of my problems taking a responsibility. I feel bad that I can't help you." She drops her gaze, covered in humiliation.
"You don't need to." I calm her down.
"But I want to. I am not used to people doing things for me. My aunt always expected me to keep everyone happy, but she never cared about me. I was like her pet."
I see her eyes contained in bubbling tears, at the edge of trickling down her cheeks. At the moment as I am looking at her, she does not look back at me.
