sorry i haven't updated ... it's been a really tough month

It was two days till the festival, and it was a hot sizzling day at Waipu.

The sun was at its highest reach, as it sparkled down at the waves making it glitter at Calum's and Anahera's eyes. And boy, was it a beautiful sight.

The whole town was currently working together with the stands for the festival, wether it was food stands or games, everyone was busy.

Calum and Anahera was lucky enough to be working on the bottle ring game.

"Why did we have to get this stand!" Calum complained as he set down the box of glass bottles. "No one even likes this game." he huffed, looking over at Anahera who had the colourful rings.

She didn't even take a glance of Calum as she just sat there in her own little world. She had this small frown that made Calum knit his brows into an arch.

"What's wrong?" he asked, beginning to set up the bottles in rows.

"Nothing." she grunted, removing herself off the plastic table.

It was obvious to Calum that there was something wrong. From his friend's tips (Michael's) he once said that when girls said nothing was wrong. It usually met something was very, very wrong.

Calum set the things down, as he made his way towards Ana who had his head down.

"I'm going to ask again, and you better answer." he warned her. "What's wrong?' he said placing his hands on her shoulders, as he bent to see her face.

"Your leaving in less than a week." she sighed at her childish thoughts. He was going to leave one day for sure, but she'd completely forgot and oblivious at the idea. She'd grown to love this boy, and he was already leaving very soon.

But before Calum could wrap his arms around her, they were interrupted by little kids barging at him for a bear hug.

"You're leaving!" they cried onto his stomach.

In the past week he was growing small relationships with the kids, and he was laughing at how cute they were all being. He kneeled down at their height, to look at them with a friendly grin.

"I'm not leaving now-"

And as soon as he said that, they all gave him a straight face before scurrying along. After all he wasn't leaving right that second.

"Fine then!" he shouted behind them, only to get three kids sticking their tongues out.

He laughed, and waved them off.

For a second he almost forgot Ana was there behind him waiting for his long-awaited hug. So he wrapped Ana in a tight envelope.

"You've been such a great friend Ana," he breathed into her ear. "You don't know how much you've helped me become a person I am today. Your personality reflected on mine, making me a much positive person."

As they detached away, Calum kept talking.

"I can't remember one time you haven't been there for me when I was obviously breaking down, this whole trip. From beginning to- now. Especially how I was just a stranger to you at the start." he chuckled, as a tear escaped from Ana's right eye. "You need to stop worrying about how many more days, or minutes, or seconds you have left with me. Instead, we should be laughing right now and enjoy each other's company. Focus on the present and not the future. You thought me that."

The girl wiped her tears, as she smiled at the sight of her friend. "And how did I teach you that again?" she tittered, still not controlling her tears.

"By being you." Calum cheered. "The way you act around people, is like you live in the moment. People want to be around you, when you give this energetic laugh of yours. You smile like a kid getting the birthday gift they've always wanted. You're someone I'm honoured to be friends with-"

Calum felt a pair of hands on the sides of his face, and plump lips on his own.

Anahera was kissing him. The girl who he found daring and lively was pressing their lips on his.

It wasn't like fireworks blowing behind them, or butterflies flying crazy inside his stomach. It was a soft kiss. Like a lonely strawberry being dipped in chocolate fondue.

"Your my best friend, Calum Hood." she said before crashing him into a hug.
