Waipu was located in the Northern Region of New Zealand, and is about a 2 hour drive from the central of Auckland.

That was also Calum and Anahera's destination. They were still driving, and the last town they passed was over an hour ago.

Rows of crops, with hundreds of ever-so green hills and mountains. Oak wood trees, and wild forests of natural habitats. The skies was readying itself for the night, as the sun starts to set off the edge. Overhead the sky above was in shades of lavender and rosy pinks, with hints of cornflower blue. It was extravagant to the eyes, and Calum wanted to capture it all to himself.

He could feel Pai's deep breaths on his lap, while he continues to softly run his fingers through the smooth fur. With his legs up on the dashboard of the car, he let his head fall on the side of the wall. Alternative soul music plays in the background, as Calum pulls his right arm outside of the window. The wind was rushing through his shirt, and it felt cool on his tanned arm. His arm moves loosely through the wind, and moves with the beat of the song. So high by Six60 was playing and Calum had never heard of them before, until today— from Anahera. (a/n who knows six60 ?? bcus theyre bomb af)

"We're here," Anahera yawned, covering her mouth. She turned away from the rocky road, and started to slow down the car's pace once she was on smoother ground.

Suddenly rows of small houses were visible to the eyes, and so were small shops. A faded welcome sign was there, to welcome guests (like him), ; Waipu, Bream Bay. Kia Ora!!! And underneath showed the current population, of 1,491 residents. It was frankly a fairly small town.

"Waipu has a Scottish heritage, and that's how your dad and mum met— right here in this little town." Anahera smiled towards Calum, who was poking his head outside the window. The smell of fresh leaves was amusing to his nostrils, and just the feeling of cool air made him satisfied.

"How do you know that?" He furrowed his eyebrows once he sat back down properly again on the seat. He took his legs off the dashboard, and planted them on the car floor.

Anahera was humming with the song that was playing, while she tapped her fingers on the steering wheel.

"There's this story your grandmother always told the kids and— I would tell you myself, but she said she was going to tell you tonight," she sighed.

I have a grandmother?, Calum questioned himself. He'd never met his mum's parents, only his dad's. Now that he's been told this information, he was starting to get worried. His leg wouldn't stop going up and down rapidly, and he kept clicking his knuckles— a habit he does when he felt nervous.

"Oh, cut it out Calum." Anahera snickered, thinking how ridiculous Calum was acting with his bouncing leg— that was still on-going. "They're going to love you, I've only met you for a couple hours and— well..." she carried on, actually questioning herself.

"Hey!" He thwacked her arm, feeling slightly offended.

"Aye!" She whined while rubbing her arm that had been hit, while Calum shot a glare on her way. "Fine, your pretty... decent."

"Anahera!"

"I'm joking!" She raised the hand that was free in defence, "You're fabulous, extraordinary, extravagant!" she laughed while listing words at the top of her head.

"You better have been joking," he muttered playfully.

Anahera pulled over outside a primrose coloured yellow house, that had the lights already turned on. Little fairy lights were outside, decorating the deck, and many pairs of shoes was sitting out. Lots of people were obviously here.
