The New Beginning

Chapter 34- Through the Window (Clair's POV)

I sat there numb. No Emotion. No pain. Nothing. Almost like a dream. More like a nightmare. Nightmare called my life. I stood up and looked in the mirror. I was all cried out. My eyes were red from all the tears. My make-up from this morning was running down my face. My hair was sticking up in disturbing strands. How could anyone think this girl was pretty. Were they all right? Was I a slut? WHy was this al happening again? I wrecked things with the one guy I actually liked. Period end of story. Maybe I wasn't meant for this town. But if not here than where? I guess I have proved moving never helps. Nothing ever helps. I heard a slight tap on the door causing me to jump. When I opened it up I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Aren't you suppose to be in school?"I asked Jamie. She was never one to skip a day. There was a pause and then I noticed her tear filled eyes.

"Carson's in the hospital. I am a terrible girlfriend. Everything just sucks." She said sinking down into my couch.

"Carson's where?" I asked sunned.

"Hospital. There was a fight and he blacked out" she explained wailing.

"Fight with who?"

"He stepped in between Dustin and Alex. One of them hit him accidentally." She elaborated.

"Oh my gosh." I managed to spit out stunned by this new information. "Wait why are you a bad girlfriend."

"With all of the Carson in the hospital stuff there is no way I can tell him about what happened earlier, but he had told Carson before that is I even got a sign or was getting harassed he knew I would tell him. So, by not telling him I'm hiding something he wants me to share." She announced putting her head in her hands.

"I'm sure he will understand. With as close as you guys are, everything will be fine." I reassured her.

"Anymore, I never know how close we really are. I have been a terrible girlfriend and not had enough time for him. I'm pretty sure Sam is moving in on him again. It is going to a complete repeat of last time." She confessed.

"Who?" I asked. "What even happened to you guys the first time?"

"Him and I had been talking,like a lot." I began. "We had gotten pretty close and were hanging out a lot. I thought he liked me. Then, this girl Sam showed up. He of coarse said it was nothing. I didn't worry when I should have. Next thing I know, I go to meet him to hang out I catch them making out. Him and I get into this fight ,and we both said some stuff we didn't mean. He had me, I hated him and we stopped talking." She explained thinking back.

"So you think he's talking to her again?" I asked.

" I know someone has been texting him all the time, because he is always texting someone when we hang. Now he gets so secretive about his phone when I'm around. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I keep thinking of all these things I have been doing that could cause this and you have no clue how many I have." She said crying into my shoulder. "I am a terrible girlfriend."

"No your not. It is not your fault you don't have time. You kind of had other things to do." I reassured her. I was defiantly going to check on this later. Her phone buzzed and as she picked it up I read the name on the screen. Dustin. She shook her head as she opened the message. "What?" I asked.

"I need to talk to you." She said in a mocking way. "Like I really want to talk to him right now? He is the reason Carson had to go to the hospital."

"Maybe Dustin has something important to say?" I suggested holding back tears from the sound of his name.

"Well, I got to go. I'm suppose to go meet Traycan. You going to be ok?" She asked turning to look at me.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." I lied. I had to let her go.

"You sure?" She worried.

"I'm sure." I said plastering my face with a fake smile.

"Ok" she said swiftly and heading out the door.

I sat silent as I watched a closed door. A sudden other knock came at the door and I jumped when I looked through the window.....
