Reader POV
"Luke!" I shouted as my best friend climbed out of his x-wing.The Rebel pilots had just faced off with a squadron of elite pilots from the Empire, and Luke had flown spectacularly, shooting down several enemy fighter ships.
"You did great up there Skywalker!" I congratulated.
"Gee, thanks Y/ N! I feel like I contributed a lot to the Rebellion today!"
"And you did, trust me!" I gave Luke a friendly kiss on the cheek. "The Rebellion needs you up there! You know what, how about we throw a celebration tonight! We can eat dinner together and invite the whole crew! Leia, Han..."
"That sounds great, Y/ N! I'll be there."
"Cool! I'll see you then!" I said, parting ways.
___________
Han Solo POV
"...we can eat dinner together..."I had heard enough, and stormed away from where I was watching Luke and Y/N's conversation." I had told Luke about how I may or may not have liked Y/ N and the first thing I saw was Y/ N kissing the guy and asking him out for dinner!
Well, two could play at that game! If Luke was gonna try to steal my girl, I was gonna steal her back!
____________
Third Person POV
Y/ N walked through the halls of the Rebellion station in Hoth, simply because she had nothing else to do. Suddenly, Han Solo came from around a corner and slammed right into Y/ N."Ah!" You cried, partially because of surprise but mostly because of the fact that you had been knocked to the ground.
"Oh, uh, sorry Y/ N." Han apologized, helping you up from the ground.
"It's okay." You replied, brushing yourself off. "Why where you in such a hurry anyway?"
"Uh...I was actually looking for you." He said awkwardly, looking down at his feet.
"Yeah? What for?"
"Well, uh... I thought it's time I finally taught you how to handle a gun."
"Really?" You gasped. "Every time I've asked you to teach me before you've said no!"
Yes, you were a part of the Rebellion, but you stayed back at base during battles, and helped strategize or handle tech issues. You hadn't really needed to know how to use a gun, but you always wanted to learn how to just in case. You knew Han was one of the best shots in the Rebellion, so you asked him to teach you, but every time he said no.
"Yeah, well...the Empire's been on our tail a lot lately, and I couldn't live with myself if you were captured because you didn't know how to defend yourself."
You blushed and looked down to hide your face. "Thanks, Han. That's really...sweet."
"How about we get to it then."
______________
You widened your stance and held up your blaster, pointing it at the dummy. You and Han made your way down to one of the many training rooms and began practicing. You chose a small hand gun first, just to get the hang of it. He helped you figure out the proper stance and how to aim, yet things weren't going very well.
You fired the gun, hoping to hit the dummy in the chest, but the beam of light shot off far to the right.
"Han, I don't understand how you do this! It's impossible!"
"It just takes a lot of practice, that's all. And trust me, as a smuggler, you get a lot of practice. Just keep trying!"
"Ok..." You picked up your blaster and began getting ready to make another shot, but heard a beeping come from the watch on your wrist. You looked down, and saw you only had about 30 minutes before Luke's celebration dinner.
"Oh, no! I have to go!" You said, setting down the blaster. You had completely forgotten about the dinner, and come to think of it, forgotten to invite any guests!
"Wait, we have...a lot of practice to do!" Han said, trying to prevent you from going to the dinner.
"Oh, I'm sorry Han! I wish I could stay but-" you said as you began walking towards the exit.
"Then why don't you?" Han asked.
You turned back and faced him, explaining, "Well, Luke did great in battle today, so I thought I might congratulate him with a dinner. Would you want to-"
Suddenly he cut you off, asking: "You're with Luke aren't you?"
"Wait a minute, why would you-"
"Luke is some big hero, right? And I'm just some smuggler that happens to be his friend! Of course you would choose Luke over me! Everyone else does!" Han yelled in frustration.
"No, Han! It's not like that!" You tried to explain.
"Whatever Y/N! Don't try to pull that crap with me! First, you hang out with him all of the time, then ask him out to dinner! Are...are you trying to torture me or something?" Han pressed a hand to his head in exasperation.
"Wh-what do you mean?" You asked with concern.
"Y/N..."he sighed, putting his hands on the sides of your arms. "I'm gonna flat out come and say it. I..."he looked down for a moment. "I love you."
You leaned forward, kissing him. It was short and sweet, but just right. He looked at you in surprise.
You grinned at him, before walking out of the training room.
"I know."
