"Wow..." I breathed, twirling in front of the mirror. "How'd you get ahold of a dress like this? You must have paid a fortune!"

(see picture for dress)

"Stand still!" Hissed B/F/N, and I froze. However, her expression quickly changed to a smirk. "And you know I have my ways!"

B/F/N was using a hair curler plugged into the bathroom wall to style my  hair. First she insisted on doing my own makeup, and then my hair. If it were anyone else, I would have refused. But it was B/F/N, and I trusted her.

She finished curling my hair, turning off the iron. "Done!" She announced, stepping back and admiring her handiwork.

"I don't know how you did it," I said, turning away from the mirror with a smile, "but thanks! I actually look amazing!"

"I know." She replied with a shrug. "Now let's go...your date is waiting!"

I blushed at her comment but followed her out of the bathroom. The dress was so long, I had to pick up the front of the skirt so I wouldn't trip over it. As we walked into the hallway we spotted Luke, looking away and at the entrance of the gym. B/F/N loudly cleared her throat, causing Luke to turn and look at us.

His eyes scanned quickly over B/F/N in confusion before landing on me. Luke froze, his face reddening. "Wow, uh, Y/N...you look...incredible!"

I looked down at the floor with a soft smile. "Thanks."

"Come on, lovebirds!" Shouted B/F/N from the gym entrance. "I have a date too, you know!" She quickly dashed inside, leaving me and Luke in the hallway. Luke awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck before stiffly offering an arm for me to take. I laughed, taking it and letting him escort me inside.

B/F/N dragged me and her date onto the dance floor, with Luke close behind. As the bass thumped loudly and people jumped up and down to the beat, B/F/N began to join them. First, her date happily did the same, the two dancing together. I looked at Luke with a smile, and he shrugged, rolling his eyes. "Come on!" I shouted, trying to let my voice be heard of the music. I started dancing with B/F/N and her date, and Luke finally joined soon after.

We all danced together for a while, enjoying the adrenaline pumping through our veins. When my ankles were beginning to get sore and legs started becoming a little wobbly, I stopped, turning to the group. "Do you guys want to take a break?"

"No!" Screamed B/F/N, still dancing her heart out with her date. "Go ahead!"

I looked over at Luke, and he nodded, walking with me over to the seating area. We sat together at one of the tables, collapsing into the chairs. Suddenly Luke stood up.

"I'll go get us some punch." He replied, beginning to walk over to the punch table. My eyes widened, and I grabbed his arm. He turned to look at me with confusion, and I gritted my teeth, trying to point out what was happening at the table. Finally he took the hint, looking over. Some dude - I  think his name was Kylo, or something - was stealthily pouring the contents of a flask into the punch bowl.

Luke looked back at me, his face cracking into a grin. We both laughed for a moment before calming down again. We sat in silence for a second, watching all of the people dancing to the blaring music.

"So." Luke started, drawing my attention. "Are you having fun tonight?"

"Yeah." I answered with a smile. "Are you?"

"Yeah. It's actually the most fun I've had in a while. Tell your friend I said thanks."

"Will do." I looked back over at the dance floor, spotting B/F/N and her date. Suddenly they stopped dancing and started walking over to the punch bowl. "Oh, uh...I better go warn them about that punch! Be right back!" I quickly got up from my seat, rushing over, not noticing Luke smiling at my turned back.

After warning B/F/N and her date about the punch bowl, and talking for a while, the four of us decided to do something. There was an area where a professional photographer was taking pictures, and me and B/F/N dragged the boys over. First, we all took a fun group picture, which ended up looking really good. Next B/F/N and me took a picture together, and after that went B/F/N and her date. Finally it was Luke and I's turn, and I tugged him with me in front of the camera.

The photographer pressed down the trigger on the camera, snapping the photo. I ran over to the computer to look at the photo. In it, Luke had his arm wrapped around my waist and I rested a hand on his shoulder. The both of us were wearing large, bright smiles. The photographer smiled at me.

"I'll have two copies ready this evening, dear."

"Thank you!" I replied, returning the smile before running off again.

The four of us headed out to the dance floor, continuing to dance again like earlier. After a while the prom queen and king were announced, and the lively atmosphere had calmed down. Suddenly the music stopped, and the DJ picked up his microphone.

"Alright everyone, I think it's time we slow things down a bit. Here's an oldie for all you lovebirds out there."

The strobe lights suddenly softened, and the new music started playing. Many people went to the seating area to wait out the song. I looked over, and Luke looked down at his shoes with red cheeks. He suddenly looked up, reaching a hand out to me.

"May I have this dance?" He asked with an old-fashioned accent and crooked grin. I laughed quietly at how he was acting before nodding.

"You may indeed, kind sir." I replied, stepping closer. He wrapped his arms around my waist as I wrapped mine around his shoulders. We swayed to the music, enjoying the moment. Suddenly Luke spoke up.

"I really did mean what I said earlier, Y/N. This is the most fun I have had in a very long time." He stated. "And it's all because of you."

I shook my head with a crooked grin. "No, you saw earlier, B/F/N broke the both of us out."

"That's not what I meant." Luke replied, looking into my eyes. I stopped smiling, looking at him in confusion. "Sure, B/F/N got us out of there, but she wouldn't have done it if you hadn't have been there. And I don't just mean tonight. I was miserable, training in isolation day after day. And then you came along."

My gaze softened. "You...you really mean that?"

Luke nodded at me. I blushed, looking down. "Wow...Luke, I don't know what to say...." Suddenly I felt his hand lift my gaze back up to his.

"You don't have to say anything." I was shocked at first when he started to lean in, but soon found myself doing the same. We both met in a warm, sweet kiss. It ended all too soon, yet at the same time, it was perfect. We slowly pulled apart, and I leaned my head on his shoulder, continuing to dance the night away.

And what an amazing night it was.
