You awoke with a startle, hearing someone loudly knocking on your door. You raised your head from your pillow, brushing the tangled mess that was your hair with your fingers. The obnoxious knocking continued, and you let out a groan. "What?"
Padme walked into your room, closing the door once again behind her. "Get dressed and gather your things. We're leaving."
"What? Why?" You asked, stepping out of your bed. "The Senate hasn't even voted yet."
"There was another attempt last night. Luckily the Jedi caught the bounty hunter, but not who hired her."
"Last night?" You repeated back to Padme. "Why didn't you wake me up?"
Your sister looked down in guilt. "We didn't want to concern you."
"You didn't want to concern me? You know, I am concerned. Concerned that my sister treats me like a child!" You shouted.
"I only wish to protect you." Padme said, trying to calm you down.
"I don't need you to protect me! It's about time you realized I'm not a little girl anymore. I can handle myself."
Padme nodded, looking down at her shoes, before silently leaving you alone.
You were proud of yourself. It's about time you told her to let you make your own decisions for once. You nodded to yourself in solidarity before beginning to get ready.

You finally finished tying up your hair with a satin ribbon, leaning back on the chair intended for the vanity while looking in the mirror. You turned your head from side to side, making sure it would stay up before getting out of your chair. You finally felt free, twirling around in your new attire.
Like you had said earlier, you were going to make your own decisions for once. And first, you had decided to change your clothing.
You were no longer dressed in elaborate dresses adorned with gems, or corsets laced up much too tight. You were no longer wearing heels that made you feel that you could topple over any second. Your hair wasn't up in a tight hair-do and your face wasn't caked in makeup.
You were wearing brown, leather boots that were laced up to your shins. They were paired with socks that had frilly lace edges and peeked out from under the boots. You were wearing a simple, dark blue dress of pattern-less flannel that flared out from your hips and went down to the edges of your boots. Your dress appeared to have no sleeves but a white, cotton shirt under it with baggy sleeves, even though it was still a part of the dress. Around your waist you wore a brown, leather belt with a small, brass buckle. Your hair was tied up in a ponytail, and you decided to put hardly any makeup on. Around your neck was a long, brass chain with a clear crystal on the end of it.
You knew it would make her fume, but you couldn't wait to see the look on Padme's face when you came out with this clothing on. You had bought the whole outfit in secret, hoping for a day like this to come. Of course, you weren't going to leave your old clothing behind, that would be wasteful. However, you couldn't wait to trade it in for more clothing like this.
You took in a deep breath before walking out the door, hauling your luggage behind you. Everyone was sitting out in the living room, waiting for you, and looked up when you walked in. Padme appeared like she was going to faint, Obi-Wan looked at you confusedly and Anakin's face slightly lit up.
"I'm ready!" You smiled.
Anakin continued to grin at you while everyone else came to their senses. After they all clambered up from their seats, the group began to make their way to the door. After walking out, Padme handed her luggage to a bellhop. Another came up, offering to take yours too, but you shook your head.
