I quickly rolled under the small ship, bringing my box of tools with me. After locating the problem with the ship and working on it for about a half hour, I finally rolled back out. My ponytail was astray and I had oil smeared on my face. "Um, that'll be 200 credits, ma'am!"

The tiny old woman pulled out a small coin purse and began slowly picking through it. I let out a small sigh, whipping out my grease rag and attempting to clean up my face. After what seemed like ten minutes, there was now a pile of credits in my hand and the auto shop was empty.

Once again for the fiftieth time that day, I walked to the empty cashier counter, opened the cash register, and tossed the credits in. Suddenly I heard the tinkling of the door bell, and I lifted my head. "Welcome to the- oh, B/F/N, it's you."

My best friend and roommate was stalking into the shop, not even hesitating as she walked behind the cash register to me. "It's him again." She had an annoyed look on her face as I let out a groan.

"Ugh...really? I thought he'd be on one of his runs by now."

"Well, apparently not." Huffed B/F/N. "He really wants to see you, Y/N. You can't avoid him forever."

I rolled my eyes. "Of course I can. We live in a galaxy of billions of planets. Besides, I don't want to see him. I hate his guts. Just tell him to leave, like usual."

B/F/N looked down with gritted teeth, beginning to wring her hands. "Oh, yeah...about that-"

The bell on the door rang once again.

"Y/N!"

My eyes widened and I quickly tried to run back into the repair room. "Shit."

Han quickly grabbed my wrist, pulling me back to him. "Y/N! I need to talk to you."

I scowled at Han, roughly twisting my wrist out of his grasp. "Yeah? Well maybe I don't want to talk to you." I shoved him away before pushing through the door into the car garage, greeting a customer that just pulled in as they walked to the waiting room.

"Just listen, please!" Pleaded Han, but I just rolled my eyes, laying down on my creeper and rolling under the ship. However, as soon as I picked up my wrench, I felt myself being pulled back out by Han. As he pulled me up from the creeper, I hissed multiple obscenities at him. After he continued to stay silent, I eventually ran out of insults so I decided to stand and fume instead.

"Listen." Said Han, still holding onto my arms so I wouldn't bolt. "You said I was a cheater, so I stopped. You said I was a drunk, so I stopped drinking. What more do you want from me?"

I narrowed my eyes at Han, leaning in close to his face. "You still haven't changed, I can tell. Besides, how do I know you're not lying to me? Huh? That's pretty much what you did our entire relationship! And guess what? I've moved on. You should too considering that I'll never love you again!"

Han's grip on me loosened, and he looked my words made a huge blow on him. I took the opportunity to slip away, and ran back out of the garage. As soon as I made it out, my breathing became heavy, and I felt my cheeks going hot.

You'd think I would have broken down again or had a panic attack, but I didn't. I just didn't care about him anymore. I was angry, however. Angry that Han thought he could just waltz back into my life after how he hurt me. I hated him for that.

As I pushed opened the glass door of the shop, I suddenly ran into Luke. Luke's eyes widened and he quickly hid what he was holding behind his back in a flash of petals. "Uh...hey, Y/N..." He said awkwardly, slightly turning away as I tried to look at what he was holding.

"Hey Luke." I replied. "What have you got there?"

"Uh, nothing! It's nothing." He rushed, suddenly tossing the object into a trash can with a whoosh.

I raised an eyebrow at Luke, crossing my arms. But suddenly I heard a voice from inside the shop.

"Where's Y/N?" Bellowed Han to B/F/N who glanced my way but shrugged at Han.

I quickly turned back to Luke. "Let's get out of here, huh?" I quickly scrambled to find an excuse. "Uh...my shift's over."

Luke didn't question me, merely giving me a crooked smile and a nod.

"Good, let's go!" I grabbed Luke's arm and began to drag him away.

I smiled at Luke as I sipped from my blue milk. We were at a nearby diner that was very popular. We were lucky to get a booth to hang out in.

"-and so I said," continued Luke, "get your own bantha!" We burst into a fit of laughter, not caring as other people in the diner looked over at us. Eventually it subsided, and I let out an amused sigh as I wiped the tears from my eyes.

As I shook my head and went back to sipping my milk, I looked back up at Luke. He was dead silent, staring at me with glassy look in his eyes and the faintest of smiles. I grinned back at him awkwardly, slightly tilting my head. "What?" I asked and Luke blinked a few times, unfreezing.

"Oh, uh, nothing. It's just, that...I wanted to tell you something."

I raised my eyebrows a little bit but nodded silently.

"Y/N..." He began, trailing off as he reached a hand up to scratch the back of his neck. "You're, uh, the best...friend I've ever had."

"Oh." I said, trying to mask my disappointment.

"You're smart, and um...funny, and..." Luke paused for a moment. "And beautiful." His intense gaze softened, and I felt my cheeks turn red. I tried to look down in my cup as he continued, stirring my straw around.

"And...I think...I want...for us to be more than friends." I felt Luke reach forward to touch my hand, and I froze, looking up.

In that moment, time seemed to slow down. Luke was looking at me with loving eyes and I realized some things.

A: Han had never, ever, looked at me like he did.

and

B: I wanted for there to be something more, too.

"You...you meant it?" I breathed out, and he nodded. I could already feel myself starting to lean closer to him. "Because..." I stopped as we were both just inches away from each other over the table. "I do too." I whispered, and our lips collided.

As his lips brushed over mine in a slow, sweet kiss it was almost like a million fireworks exploded in my head. It was the best thing I had ever felt in my life, and I could tell he felt the same. Our kiss ended too soon, it seemed, and we both pulled apart, sitting back down with heavy breaths.

"Wow..." I heard him mutter.

Wow, indeed.
