Annoyingly in Love

Chapter 2

Riley

I sat at the kitchen table eating breakfast along with the others, speaking under my breath to Apollo. The young one ate her cereal enthusiastically, but I was able to read the trauma behind her smile. Then across the table was Tim, next to him sat Hoodie typing up whatever it was he was typing into his computer.

On the opposite end sat the black haired boy, otherwise known as Jeff, along with a Grey skinned boy in a Grey hoodie eating a couple of intestines. I on the other hand ate stale cereal.

"I'm more attracted to males... Chloe was the only female I've ever liked Apollo..." I murmured, just enough so no one would hear.

"Heads up Doll." He warned. At that very moment my head was shoved into the cereal bowl. My reflexes reacted quickly and I stood up wiping my face clean of the milk with my black sweater.

Hearing Jeff snicker irritated me. I eyed the Grey skinned boy now sitting next to me, a cocky smile planted on his face. "You really like that cereal..." He chuckled.

I felt infuriated at that moment, "I hate you..." I managed to growl through my clenched shut teeth.

Toby tilted his head before speaking, "Oh really? What are you gonna do about that? Kill me?"

I smiled sarcastically, "No but I can try." With that comment, I lunged myself at him, having anger take on my whole body.

The chair fell, and I pinned him down smashing his head into the floor, as he laughed, having me be irritated more by the second.

I felt a pair of arms grab my stomach and pull me back. I struggled, and watched Toby sit up with a gleeful smile.

Tim's strict voice rang out, "Riley, calm down. Toby, leave her alone." He glared at both of us and sent me away to my room. I grumbled under my breathe as Jeff's strong grip let me go, snickering with entertainment in my ear.

"What a princess. Just like you Timothy." Toby scoffed. I clenched my fists and growled under my breath once more, only turning on my heels and stomping to my room

I opened the wooden beat up door and calmly shut it, stepping on roaches that disappeared as soon as I stepped on them. I sat at the window and curled into a ball watching the snow fall peacefully as I cuddled into the warm blanket I had wrapped myself in. Soon enough I got bored and threw on my denim vest, pulling my gas mask over my mouth, and huffed a sigh. I went downstairs and stopped at the bottom of the stairs, leaning down and tying my red shoes.

"Where are you going princess?" Mocked Toby. I looked up at him and pulled my crowbar out of its place.

"What does it look like to you?" I replied dryly.

Toby's smirk faded, and his eyebrows furrowed. "Don't get mauled by a bear."

Walking over to the door I turned around and winked, a smile under my mask. "Mind your own business."

After a while of strolling the forest alone, I began to feel someone follow me. My heart ached and I pulled my crowbar out of its place once more, preparing myself for whoever it was following me.

I then felt my body being thrown forward by another body tackling me down into the snow.

"Hey princess! Now that we're alone, why don't you fight me?" Toby snickered, holding me in place onto the freezing snow.

I struggled under his weight, "Get off of me!" I swung my red crowbar at him only to be blocked by a hatchet with and orange handle.

Toby grabbed my neck and squeezed tightly. I struggled more, as my heart ached badly.

A loud ringing in my ears was being heard, and my nose began to violently bleed. "He's here doll..." Apollo interrupted me from focusing on our melee.

My vision blurred and Toby's nose began to bleed too. He was experiencing what I was experiencing as well.

A loud, "Enough!" Was heard. It was the Operator. Several feet away stood the Operator, Toby stood up and I rolled away from Toby catching my breath and holding my throat as I laid on the cold snowy floor.

Tim and Hoodie soon appeared from behind trees. Tim crossed his arms and glared at Toby. "Toby, we've warned you once not to harm her."

Toby huffed an annoyed sigh from being caught. "I can't help it! She's just so... Fun to pick on!"

I looked back at the tall cadaverous figure with no facial features, to which I dreadfully feared. I sighed a relieved sigh.

As we wandered home with tension in the air, Tim decided to finally break the silence. "The Operator has decided that if you two can't get along, you'll be forced to get along."

Toby scoffed like a teenager rebelling against their parents, annoyed. "What?! Hell no!"

I crossed my arms in disappointment, actually agreeing for once with the twitchy boy. "If we can't get along what makes you think we ever will?"

Tim huffed with frustration, "Calm down. It's only necessary if you two get into another dispute again. Knowing how you both have cholerant personalities I give it about two weeks before you snap at each other."

Toby's expression turned into an expression of disgust, "Me?! Cholerant?! Please!"

I rolled my eyes, "Toby, you're always debating."

The mentioned boy mimicked me, only replacing his name with mine. "Riley, you're always debating" He snapped, using a high pitched voice.

I growled under my breath and punched his arm, "Shut up! I don't talk like that!" I hissed.

Tim groaned and shoved his head into his hands, "Did you two not just listen to me?! You guys have one last chance. If you guys dispute once more, you'll be forced to become roommates."

With that, the rest of the day was filled with sassy remarks being cut off halfway, only to realize that if we avoided getting into arguments we wont have to put up with each other.
