Annoyingly in Love
Chapter 8
Riley
"Come on Toby! Just push me up I'm not that heavy!" I growled to him, as his fingers were interlocked beneath my timberland boot.
"Jesus Riley! How much do you weigh?! 700 pounds?!" Toby complained, exaggerating snarky comments to impel a reaction from me.
I rolled my eyes as I waited impatiently with my fingers gripped around the edge of the roof top. "Dude! We're on a stealth mission! Tim won't let us scare some teenage campers if we don't get our weapons quickly!"
Toby groaned, "Dammit Riley, why do you have to be so serious?" he teased and finally pushed me up.
I placed my palms of the roof and hoisted my body up, now sitting on the roof's edge. I looked down at Toby feeling mischievous, "Thanks Drama King, now to go tell Tim your plans of scaring campers."
Toby scoffed and furrowed his eyebrows at me, ensuing him to reach for my foot.
I immediately recognized what he plotting to do and I impulsively pulled my feet up to my chest. "I'm joking, I'm joking!" I slurred to him.
Toby gave a haughty look at me, "That's what I thought."
I rolled my eyes with a smile and got to my feet as I scurried to my bedroom window. I placed my hands on the cold glass and pushed the window up, allowing me to enter the warm atmosphere flooding my room.
Cracking my knuckles, I knelt beside my bed and reached under it feeling my hands meet with a hard cool metal. I wrapped my fingers around the said item and pulled out my trusty red crowbar.
I tossed my crimson weapon onto the navy blue bedsheets spread out neatly atop of the mattress, then made my way to the hallway.
I glanced down over the ledge to look for any sign of Tim or Brian. After making sure the coast was clear, I then went into Toby's room. I opened the door quietly, finding a messy bed, but surprisingly organized room.
"Where could they be..." I whispered to myself as I wandered into the room.
Apollo then interrupted my clouded thoughts, "Jesus doll!" His Brooklyn accent rang through my head.
A smile formed across my face, "Apollo! Hey!" I greeted, as I eyed the wooden nightstand's drawer beside Toby's bed.
"Looks like Toby's been getting your attention quite a lot? I suppose you two are beginning to actually like each other..." He stated, a chuckle echoing as I opened the drawer. I looked inside finding Toby's hatchets on top of unknown documents and change.
I shrugged, "Hasn't he always? And yeah, I guess we're getting along better now... We haven't fought in a while, and I think that's a pretty good sign." I mumbled back to the greaser as I left Toby's room, shutting the door behind me.
Walking down the hallway, I glanced at the mirror I passed by, catching a glance of Apollo's bloody grin. His black sockets matched his leather jacket which contrasted on his deathly white skin. Crimson liquid stained his chin, and with a wink he faded away.
I shook my head and hurried back into my room to retrieve my own weapon, and to abscond the cabin.
"What are you gonna do with those teenage campers you mentioned? Gonna spook them or kill them?" Apollo questioned, curiosity filling his voice.
I gave a toothy grin, "Both."
With that comment, I eluded my room through the window. As soon as I was outside, I crouched down and closed the window, sliding down to the edge of the snow covered roof.
