Annoyingly in Love

Chapter 5

Riley

The crystal white snow crunched under my feet.

Er... Our feet.

However, the blissful silence didn't last longer than merely a second. Yet, knowing Toby for awhile now, I think silence was clearly impossible. Being the fact that he and Jeff were the main trouble makers. Of course, only during night and mornings would it be more silent, Toby did indeed tend to sleep in late and would grow grumpy if anyone wanted to awaken him from his slumber.

"So where are we going? Are we going to your grave?" Toby asked enthusiastically. I felt him smile beneath his mouth guard- mask? Whatever that damn thing he has over his mouth is. I shot him a deadly glare before deciding to respond.

"No. We are simply going to wander around in this snow covered forest." I smiled beneath my dark grey gas mask as I pulled the edges of my black sleeves over my palms.

Toby gave me a frustrated look. "Boring, much? If I seriously wanted to be bored all day I should of stayed back at the cabin where I can sit and do nothing all day." He then shrugged before continuing, "Better than nothing I guess."

I heaved a sigh and ran my fingers through my dark crimson colored hair, staring off into the endless distance. I squinted as I began to notice golden headlights off in the distance as an engine's roar grew louder.

I bit my lip, "Hey Toby, is that Tim or could it be an intruder?"

Toby glanced at me then back into the direction I was gazing in.Toby gave a slight squint at the red truck in the distance before speaking, "Oh great, now I have to deal with two princesses..." He whined.

I crossed my arms, "I'm inferring that from your statement, it's Tim."

As the red truck inched closer to us, Toby had decided to sit on the ice covered floor as I leaned on the silver frosted tree. Finally, the truck came to a stop as its engine came to an end.

A figure in the crimson truck's trunk stood up. His jet black hair contrasted against his now red stained hoodie and the white snow. He turned around and his dark eyes met with mine, "Heyo, spaghettio." He furrowed his eyebrows at his comment and shook his head startled. "That sounded weird..."

Before Jeff could begin to babble, Tim emerged from the driver's seat. He removed his white mask and tossed it into the seat.

"Glad we found ya. We need an extra set of hands because..." he eyed Jeff before continuing. "Someone, just so happened to decide to smuggle these corpses back with us."

Jeff scoffed, "Hey! Jack is my bro and I'm bringing him his human meat."

Toby stood up and wiped off any leftover snow of his hoodie. He examined his hands as the two males bickered and then pulled them back into their black gloves. "Gee Tim, you sure are one hard headed party pooper, you know that?"

Tim crossed his arms and leaned on the side of the red truck. He stuck a cigarette into his mouth, lighting it and blowing out a puff of smoke. "The Operator was against us bringing any bodies into the cabin-" Toby then interrupted him from speaking.

"Blah, blah, Operator this Operator that. No one cares what Richard commands us to do!" The said boy crossed his arms, "We may work for him, but I'm sure as hell not letting him take my freedom." He growled.

Tim shrugged, another puff of smoke escaping his mouth once he spoke. "For once I actually agree with you Toby."

I shook my head, "Exactly why I refused joining you all. But hey, looks like I got stuck here either way."

Jeff tossed me a blank stare, "This crap has it's benefits too at least."

I nodded in agreement.

Brian soon popped out of the car. His signature black mask was still over his head as he stared down into the camera. "Tim, remember Alex?" He inquired

Tim immediately cringed at the mentioned human. "How could I forget the guy that got us into this mess?"

Brian kept his eyes glued to the silver camera. "Looks like he's back." He murmured and show'd Tim an unfamiliar image as he pointed to a specific figure from a recording.

Tim blew out a final puff of smoke before dropping it to the floor, and crushing it beneath his combat boot. "Well, I sure as hell don't wanna deal with him." he eyed Toby.

"I've already got a brat to deal with I don't need another." He spat.

Toby laughed, "Oh shut it Timothy."

I intervened Tim's conversation. "Isn't Alex that guy you almost killed with a rock?"

"That one exactly. How did you know?" Tim asked, a confused and interested look was spread out across his face.

Before speaking I thought for a second. "I remember watching a video back from when you guys decided to stalk me and force me to join your cult." I joked and remained serious as I spoke.

Tim smirked, "Cult huh? Well, that's a nice way to put it I guess. Also... Video? What video?"

Brian looked up from his camera and glanced back and forth between Tim and I. "Marble Hornets."

Tim nodded, "Oh shit, yeah. I remember that. Well, as of now we don't have to deal with Alex. He isn't much of a threat to us right now..."

Jeff nodded, "Can we go now because I'm drenched in warm blood and it's like freezing outside so I'm gonna freeze to death out here."

Tim nodded, "Let's go then."

Tim crawled back into the driver's seat, and Jeff hopped back into his spot in the trunk. Brian sat in the passenger's seat up front, leaving me to be stuck with Toby in the back.

Toby sat next to me and kicked up his feet into my lap. Boy, this ride was gonna be a blast.
