Reach Military Complex, Planet Reach 2517 2300 Hours ~James P.O.V.~

"You were called here to serve." It repeated into my head over and over, after the lady that was named Catherine Halsey.

After Chief Mendez told us to go head to the commons. Everyone was confused, scared, and sad. Some people ate but others were just sitting and waiting for the man to tell us to go to bed.

I was one of those people that ate. It was decent food, ham with mash potatoes. No gravy...my mom used to make good gravy with a very good seasoning. But they don't serve it here.

I listened carefully to all the other kids. They were talking about how they got here and being confused. It was confusing like why would they take us?

"Alright candidates lets get moving!" all the kids looked up and it was a different man in a military outfit.

We all looked at each other. And one left after another. "Get go candidates we don't have all night here!" he yelled.

Kids all followed the man into another room that has about...I started to count the beds. Bunk beds at least. There was 26 bunk beds. Someone on the top of the bunk bed and the other would be on the bottom.

Kids started to walk to 'claim' their beds but the man yelled over again. "Your shirts that have your numbers on it. It is placed on that chest in front of the beds. So you can not have 'claiming' rights!"

There was mumbling. "What was that Serria 220?"

The boy looked up at him than shook his head. "What?"

Next thing I knew it he brought out a stick and some electric came off when he hit the kid. Everyone gasped and stepped at least one back, watching the boy fall flat on his back.

The kid groaned and rolled a couple if time before going into a ball. The man looked up to all of us. "Your numbers are your new identity! Do I make myself clear!?"

Everyone nodded than his voice boomed. "You have to say 'yes sir or ma'am' when you have authority. Do I make myself clear?" he yelled.

"Yes sir." Everyone said.

"Alright go to bed caudates! You have to get up very early. And that's a order!" he ordered walking out of the room.

Everyone waited until the man was gone to actually help the not on the ground. "You alright?" some girl said helping him up.

He nodded coughing. "That really hurt. Why they doing this to us?" he asked.

Than a boy with blonde hair, blue eyes, and stood a head taller than most kids walked a step. "I don't know but I rather go to sleep than have him come back."

Everyone nodded than started to find their 'numbers'. Some people got frustrated to the point were they started to blame others. Which annoyed me because it wasn't anyone else fault that they have to do this.

I sighed walking passed two more beds before finding mine. I took off my other shirt and looked down at this new one. The number said 118.

I frowned. Why is this happening? The words kept repeating in my head. It's true why is this happening to us? 6 year old kids that just played and had fun.

I shook my head and put the shirt in climbing on the ladder to my bed. It got quieter but here and there was sniffling and crying sounds.

I listened started to get sad also but pushed those feelings away. It will just make me slow tomorrow. Be strong. Maybe this is a test and if you complete you get to go home. That's when the words that Dr. Halsey said. 'This is your new home.'

That's when it hit me...I is never going back home....
