27 Years Later Orbit Around Planet Reach 2552 1100 Hours ~James P.O.V.~
It's been a long while since this Human and Covenant War has been going on. It became hard times. All of us Spartans are now splitting up into teams. Going into different planets, solar systems, but now we all are gathered to actually go to fight for our home. Reach. Or what's left of us.
"Alright Noble Team you will go on this part of Reach. While Fire-team Otis will be going this part of Reach and Blue Team will go to this part of Reach." John looked at all of us with concern. He looked at the other team of Spartans and started to name them parts.
After the debriefing we started to pack up. Rebeka loaded her sniper and packed ammo, knives, and pistol rounds. Jake was cleaning his assault rifle than packed grenades. Toria was loading her pistol and DMR. Daniel was loading his DMR.
"Boss we have a problem." I looked over and Jake was standing handing me a ear piece. "John has wanting to contact you."
"Didn't he just lifted off?" I asked looking at it than him.
He nodded. "Yes sir. But you need to take this."
I sighed. "Alright alright." I grabbed it. "Yes sir?"
"James change of plans," John paused. "Reach is going down hill it looks from here, you need to evac as much as civilians as possible but still win Reach. We don't need another planet to fall. Especially our home."
I was quiet deciding on what or even how to respond. "Yes sir. Fireteam Otis out."
"What did he say?" Rebeka asked walking to the pelican.
We all started to follow her. "Just to get civilians out."
Toria stopped. "Don't tell me. Is it?"
I looked at her. If she could see my eyes through my helmet. It was upsetting. "I don't know Toria. Hopefully...not. Like John said. We can't loose another planet. Especially our home."
It was quiet for a bit. Who wouldn't be? This is our home. We were here since 6 years old. We had to be worried, scared, nervous. But these emotions has to be pushed aside. Just cause it could jeopardise the mission and my team.
It's hard to actually think that the Covenant found Reach. UNSC was doing a hell of a job of keeping it safe and where they couldn't be able to track. But at least it isn't Earth. Still it's our home.
"Don't worry though," they all looked over at me. But I watched the hatch close of the pelican. "We can take these alien bastards down."
