Chapter 28 : Gone

~Nico's POV

I woke up from sleep, I rembered it all. Even in my dreams. Tears are building up on the corner of my eyes.

Yesterday.. Where Maki-chan was tortured and disappeared. She is now gone.. I already missed you Maki-chan. I missed your morning calls and text, but now there are none of it.

Are coming back? Please come back to me.

I went to my desk and grabbed my cellphone and saw that they texted me.

Nico! Where are you? We have training right now. I know it's hard but... Never mind...

I'm sorry Umi.. I won't come on our training today.. Maybe.. Next time.

I put my cellphone down and went to my bed again as stears started to flow again. I heard a knock from the door, It was my mom.

"Nico-nii.. You're going to be late for your friends appointment." She said behind the door.

"Mom.. Sorry.. But I won't come today. I don't feel well." I said.

"Okay." She said and I heard her footsteps away from my room.

I looked at our picture and that picture is me and Maki-chan. I hugged the frame and cried until I fell a sleep. And dreamt about how Maki-chan was stabbed by me and Kei.

~Nozomi's POV

Umi-chan started to teach us how to use a sword properly without breaking it with a single hit. And how to aim guns faster and properly. All of us saw how hard for her to teach us without Maki herself.

Umi was targets where she will shoot the gun. Normally, if it's Umi we're talking about, when it's long-ranged she is the great. But right now she is not huddling the middle of the target.

We know that it's hard for them, especially Nicocchi. I think the reason she didn't come today is because of what happened yesterday.

"You know everyone.." Umi started to talk to us. She put her gun down and looked at us. "I'm not supposed to be the one to teach you about swords and guns..." Umi said. Loneliness is the only expression that can see from her face.

"What are you saying Umi-chan? Of course you are." Kotori said with a sad voice but smiling.

"I mean.. I'm not really the one to teach you these... Maki was the one supposed to teach you these kind if stuff... I learned using swords, bow, and guns because of her. But... The only thing she thought me is that... Every people has a set of goals to protect someone.. Before she met all of you, she told me that... I'm her number one goal to protect.. I know.... I k-know.. I know it's h-hard to believe... That she she's gone.. I know..." Umi-chan began to cry in front of us. Honoka and Kotori run towards her and hugged her.

I picked a card from my pocket and I was surprised to see a card which symbol 'Life'. Sudden thoughts are forming inside my mind.
