Adam’s POV

Me: ‘Lucy how long are you going to keep me locked up in here?!’ I said whilst banging on the closet door. I twisted the door knob but no use. She has locked me in for sure.

Me: ‘Lucy?’ I banged on the door again. I then heard Louie crying.

Me: ‘Louie, it’s okay!’ I shouted again hoping he would hear me. I couldn’t hear any shuffling from the other side, maybe Lucy has gone out?

I stood up in the pitch black closet I was locked in and started to feel my surroundings. Nothing. I went on my hands and knees and began touching the cold floor. I still couldn’t find anything until my hand touched something. I picked up whatever I had and began feeling it. My hands found the end of this object, that’s when I realised it’s something related to sport by the grip on the end of the object, maybe a bat? This could be my chance to get myself out of here.

I took a few steps back from the door and got to grips with the bat. I took a huge swing at the wooden door hoping for exit, but no use. I felt the door and it had cracks forming, obviously the door was breaking but slowly. I took another swing, and another until daylight entered where I was standing almost blinding me. I put my arm through the hole I had just made and opened the door, smart one Lucy by leaving the key in the keyhole..

I still heard Louie crying so I immediately when to where he was. I followed the crying and saw Louie on the floor crying his little eyes out, he wasn’t even properly dressed, the poor thing. I picked him up and grabbed the bag with Louie’s clothes in; I dressed him properly in fresh clothes then took him into the kitchen. I noticed Louie was lighter in weight; Lucy must have not fed him. He did look weak. How couldn’t she feed a vulnerable baby?! How long did she actually leave me locked up in that closet? Why is it taking Andy so long to get here? I need to stop asking questions and focus.

But I decided to go to the front door, I pulled down the door handle but it was locked. No surprise. I went to the backdoor and also locked. Why is Lucy keeping me here? I went back to the kitchen with Louie still in my arms and looked in the fridge, I found one jar of baby food, but nearly empty. This will have to do for now, I wish I had more for him. I found a spoon and went into the living room. I sat Louie down on my lap and began feeding him. He stopped his crying and was actually enjoying his food. I patted his back hoping for him to let out a burp. Once he did I laughed. It was cute.

I placed the jar into the bin in the kitchen and then I noticed a phone hanging on the wall. I rushed to the phone and luckily I memorised Andy’s number off by heart. It began ringing.

‘Hello?’

Me: ‘Andy, it’s me Adam’

‘Adam! Is everything okay? Is Louie okay?’

Me: ‘Yeah, Lucy has gone out, Louie I have just fed, I don’t think he’s been fed, I’ve noticed he is really light’

‘Adam we are on our way; do you know where you are? Any guesses?’

Me: ‘All I remember her saying is that I will like it, and it’s by the coast, I’m in a cottage’

There was silence on the other end of the phone.

Me: ‘Andy?’

‘Adam, its Joel, is Louie okay?’

Me: ‘He’s fine, I promise, look I’m sorry I took him, Lucy told me-‘

‘Adam, don’t worry, we have all realised Lucy like the attention’

Me: ‘I gathered I-‘    Just then I heard the front door shut.
