Chapter Nineteen

Yoandri's POV

It wasn't until I saw Angelia at school the next day that I remembered how vulnerable she looked when I kissed her. How she sighed in my ear, the way she reacted when I touched her skin.

I keep my eyes straight ahead, and it takes everything I have in me to not turn around. It takes everything I have in me not to turn around and kiss her till we are both breathless.

Joel brushes past me and sends me a sympathetic smile, and I send him a small one back. Four footsteps later, I hear a locker door slam and Joel is storming the opposite way of Angelia who was banging her head on the locker.

I see her push away and walk to first period, her hair flying behind her. I stand in the middle of the hallway, everyone staring at me for clarification.

"Stop looking at me, get on to class."

They all shuffle to their classrooms and I sigh, going to first period.

It was only third period and the news had spread around.

Angelia and Joel are over because of Yoandri.

I look over to Joel and take my seat next to him. Once I settle down he mutters, "You fucking kissed her?" I sigh and say, "Joel, I'm sorry. Are you guys still together?" Joel shakes his head and I sigh, "Oh. I'm sorry."

He glares at me and says, "No matter how much I tried, or how hard I worked," I look to him confused but then he continues his sentence, "I couldn't fucking make her feel so much as wanting."

Joel looks away and bites his lip, "and all you had to do was drive her home, and she was all over you."

I frown and say, "Joel?" He stares at me and I say, "She might've loved you if you didn't treat her as some sort of prize. Yeah, her happiness was yours but that didn't give you the fucking right to overwhelm her with desperation."

I open my textbook and keep going, "If you didn't treat your relationship as some sort competition against me, saying she had to choose and all, maybe she might've still been with you."

His shaky breath and sigh is all I need to know that I had somehow gotten him to agree with me. The class starts and I avoid his gaze, his presence, because this whole time I didn't realize it until my baby girl got hurt.

Joel was the one who was playing with her emotions.

I sigh as I shut my locker door and I see the one person who could brighten up my whole day with a sole glance.

Angelia.

I smile as she opens her locker and I see a hint of a smirk on her face. Her head suddenly snaps towards mine and a wide smile appears on her face, "Stop staring." Chuckling, I nod grabbing my backpack.

Taking a deep breath I look over to where she stood. Her curly hair was cascading down her back, her eyes searching for something in her locker, her hands fumbling to get things into her backpack.

I smile gently and an idea pops into my head. "I need to ask you something," I say to her as her eyes wander to where I am positioned. She examines me as I walk up to her, "What is it?" I stop in front of her and give her a warm smile, talking to her already boosting my mood.
