Chapter Three
Angelia's POV
"BABY COME BACK!"
I nudge Yoandri and he laughs at his random outburst, his dark brown eyes shining in the light. "Wanna Netflix and Chill?"
I glare at Yoandri and mumble, "I have homework to finish." He nods and smiles, "I'll help you then." I grin and shake my head, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
He blushes and suddenly Justin Vincent is next to us. I close my locker door and intertwine my hand with Yoyo's. He grasps me tightly and I lean against his shoulder.
There's that bubbly feeling again.
It had been occurring more frequently this feeling, but I ignored it.
"What do we have here?" Justin snorts. "The bitchy nerd and the jock."
I roll my eyes, "You know what? I have put up with your bullshit for the past two years and I'm just about done with it. Now, do you have a problem with me?"
Justin laughs, "I'm not gonna let a girl tell me to shut up."
Yoandri's eyes widen and he looks between us two. "Escape while you can bro," he states. I stop him and laugh, "No it's fine baby. He wants to play? Let's play."
I turn to Justin, "There's this saying that my mom once told me. That when life makes you put up with mean and spiteful, ungrateful people, think of them as sandpaper."
Justin stays quiet.
"They'll be jerks, scratch you, rub you the wrong way, but when everything's said and done, you'll be smooth and polished," I take a step forward. "And that sandpaper? It's going to be worn out and ugly."
I pick up my things as pure silence radiates the area. I look at Justin one more time, "And you Justin Vincent are that piece of sandpaper."
Yoandri follows me as I leave the school, both of us marching nonchalantly. He stops and that causes me to turn around. I see a smile on his face and he says, "That's really cool. You defended yourself and didn't swear once."
I roll my eyes but a smile spreads across my lips anyway and I walk to my car, Yoandri walking next to me. "Thanks, Yoyo." He smiles and I lean up, kissing his cheek.

"I'm so tired," I murmur, snuggling up to Yoandri, his warmth radiating over my body. "Go to sleep, I'll be here when you wake up."
I gently lull myself to sleep, Yoandri's heartbeat thumping against his warm chest. I snuggle into his neck and kiss his collarbone, causing him to shiver.
I chuckle in his ear before getting knocked out from drowsiness.
The only thing I hear is a small whisper.
It was barely there.
"Thanks."

"THE ONES THAT LOVE ME I TEND TO LEAVE BEHIND!"
I groan as my mother, Jeanette, and Yoandri combine to form a duet. I glare at the both of them, eating the apple pie my mother laid out for us.
I feel Yoyo smiling at me and I grub on the pie, checking the time on my phone. "Mother?" She smiles at Yoandri before turning to me, "Yes honey?" I grin, "Can I take Yoandri to see the lights?"
She nods and lets him go.
I walk up to him and grab his hand, pulling him outside with me. He stumbles over his feet and I run across the large field in the back of my house.
I sprint across the field, happily running free. I hear Yoandri laugh as I do a cartwheel and giggle as I run to the middle of the field. "WOO!" I scream, as I finally stop at my destination.
Yoandri appears behind me, "Why are we here?" I turn around and hug him, smiling in excitement. "I wanted to show you."
He furrows his eyebrows and I let go of him, "Since I basically live in the middle of the woods, we have the best view of the stars."
I point upwards with my finger at the beautiful view above us. I lay down and the snow seeps through my shirt. I shiver but look up at the stars in wonder anyway.
You could see it all.
Yoandri lays down next to me and when I shiver he wraps me in the warmth of his arms. I grin and he laughs, "Comfy?" I nod and he kisses my forehead.
We lay on the ground, cold, awestruck, and stuck in time. The Galaxy lay before us in all of its beauty, the city lights nothing compared to this.
The dark blues and purple hues, the Stars that formed constellations, the planets in our solar systems, the world.
Yoandri shudders, "We should go inside." I nod and say, "We can come back some other time." He grins like a little kid and yells, "RACE YA!"
I laugh with a big smile on my face, "YOU ARE ON!"
