Chapter Five
Angelia's POV
"Is it cool if I call you Lia or Angel?"
I look at Yoandri and see him playing with my fingers. "Sure, babe." He smiles and kisses my cheek. I cuddle into his side and my mother comes into the room, "Leave the door open, you two." Yoandri blushes and she smiles, "Mostly Angelia."
I glare at her but crack a grin anyway.
Yoandri sighs and snuggles up into my torso. I wrap my legs around him and he smiles at my gesture. His hair tickles my face but I don't mind it.
We were too close for it to bother us.
He rubs my arm gently and plays with my curly hair. His deep, dark brown eyes stare into mine and I melt a little. His pale skin turns red at my touch and he lets his eyes shut close. His breathing slows and I too find myself dozing off.
His heartbeat is so comforting.
Yoandri wraps his arms around my waist and I throw the comforter over our bodies. I was warm and I felt as if I was enveloped in a blanket of pure bliss.
His voice overruns my senses and he sings softly in my ear. I barely hear it when he whispers it. But I hear it anyways.
"You make me feel happy again."
I smile.

I wake up to an empty bed, the smell of Yoandri's cologne, and a fire in my stomach. I smile at the his words last night and then I shoot up out of bed.
"Shit."
I take a quick shower, put on lotion, deodorant, and slide into a pair of jeans and a baby blue long sleeve tee. I almost fall as I step into my white Converse and catch my breath before moving on to the next step.
I do a quick makeup routine and spritz perfume on myself. Afterwards, I grab my bag and manage to slide into a and grab my coat.
My hair had somehow managed to stay tamed and as I grab my backpack, and keys, I run back upstairs. "GOODMORNING MOTHER LOVE YOU!"
I check the time on my phone and halt. It read 5:30 A.M.
I sit down and Yoandri pops out of the downstairs bathroom. He sees my flushed cheeks, labored breath, and laughs. "You thought you were late didn't you?"
I nod sheepishly and my mother comes down the stairs, "What's all the noise?" I look at my mother and mumble, "I thought I was late." She laughs and gives me a kiss, "Oh honey. You're so cute."
I sigh and say, "Welp. I'm gonna go to sleep. Call me when it's time to go." Yoandri and I go up the stairs and I lay down on the bed. He flops down next to me and I hug him tightly. "I gotta go soon," he whispers.
I nod and whisper back, "Just stay for a few more minutes. Like this." I can feel him smiling, "Okay."
***
It was lunch time and it was only a matter of seconds when cold liquid fell over my head.
I turn around and Lillian smirks at me, "That'll teach you not to mess with me." I feel everybody's stare, cameras out everywhere and rage courses through me.
"What is wrong with you?"
Lillian drops her smirk and juts our her hip, "You are-" I cut her off immediately, "No it's not me. Your problem is that you just don't know how to accept the fact that not everybody is going to like you. People don't want to be around people who torture other people!"
I get up close to her and my eyes burn with fury, "Yoyo didn't come crawling back to you because he found better, and to be honest," I wipe milk off my shoulder and take a step backward, "I think you're weak for not handling it since technically you left him."
I walk out of the lunchroom with everyone yelling: OH! and some other kid saying, "APPLY ICE!" I march off to the girls locker room and find my emergency change of clothing in there.
It consisted of dark wash skinny jeans and a baseball tee. I slide into my Converse and wash my hair in the sink, towel drying it, putting globs of conditioner in the unruly curls. When I exit, hands grip my face and arms embrace me in a tight hug.
"Baby, are you okay?"
Yoandri's cologne wafts up my nose and I hug him back, burying myself into his chest. "Yeah. I'm fine." He kisses my forehead and hugs me tighter. "I'm so sorry. I caused for that to happen. It's my fault."
I lean back from the safety of his arms and furrow my eyebrows, "You did nothing wrong. Lillian just can't get over the fact that you haven't gone crawling back. I told her that."
Yoandri smiles at me and whispers, "You're a good best friend you know that?" I snort and flip my wet hair, "So I have been told." We both laugh and I grab my backpack.
"Wanna come over today? We can see the lights with proper clothing." Yoyo laughs and nods. "Sure."
***
2 hours later and there we were, gazing up at the stars, with our limbs wrapped around each other.
"Angelia?"
I tear my eyes from the sky to meet Yoandri's, "Yeah?" He smiles and says, "Look at the stars, honey. Look at how they shine for you."
I laugh at the pet name intertwined into the infamous quote. "Cheesy. But thank you. I'll look at them." He chuckles and kisses my cheek.
"Can we stay like this a little longer?"
I smile at his question and nod, "Of course. However long you want." Yoyo smiles and looks up at the stars once more.
"Look at that one," he points.
