I'm going to get straight into this chapter, Malfoy's mood is lasting.

HERMIONE POV:

I raced Astoria, Ginny, Luna and the boys up the hill. Malfoy and Blaise won of course, me and Harry a close second.

"ASTRONOMY!!" Astoria shrieked, linking arms with me and pulling me into the building, the boy's uniform still rather damp.

Once we reached the tower Professor Sinstra, laughed about our herbology "incident" with us. "Poor you, I felt so sorry for you guys having to write letters all lunch." She cooed, straightening Neville's wonky telescope. "We are supposed to be examining the cloud patterns not the sun." She snapped as she passed Harry and Ron.

"So, do you like anyone?" Astoria said smoothly, scrunching her hair and leaning casually against the railing. My thoughts raced, do I like anyone? Who do I like? Malfoy? Phhssst no way.

"I don't think I like anyone?" I replied uncertainly, tucking a loose curl behind me ear. She frowned slightly. "I shall tell you who I like then." She mumbled, turning away to face the dimming daylight.

"Who?" I asked, I stood closer to her so she wouldn't have to speak loudly. It was like we were already best buddies, sharing secrets and gossiping. She gulped, still not facing me. I stared at the side of her face, a strand of chocolate brown wavy hair was falling in front of her face, blocking out her piercing green eyes.

"Blaise..."she admitted, facing me. Examining my shocked expression uncertainly. I yanked her into a bear hug, I heard her breathe a sigh of relief.

"We need to set you up in the sneakiest way possible." I grinned, rubbing my hands together evilly. She curtsied, "as a Slytherin I shall help you plan my future with my cunningness." She chuckled peering over my shoulder at the muscular figure of Blaise who was conveniently approaching.

"Muddleblood I need to borrow your telescope filter as I assume you are already finished." He chuckled, not waiting for a reply as he lunged for it. Astoria was quick, before his hand could grab it; her slender fingers had already clasped it and were waving the glass filter tauntingly in front of him, snatching it out of reach as he attempted to grab it.

"Muddleblood?" I asked, why had he changed it? Why not call me mudblood as usual. His attention flickered to me, brows furrowing as a smile cracked upon his face.

"Well I might as well imply that I'm insulting you without actually insulting you." His voice was dramatically serious as he snatched the filter from Astoria, not breaking eye contact with me.

My brain stumbled over the words he had just uttered and I had no idea if it made sense or not. "That doesn't make sense?" I chuckled, shaking my head slightly.

"Well I don't know you very well Granger, but you seem alright. Asty has a great judge of character as you can clearly see as she chose me to be her beloved friend so I'm going to trust you." He burst, grinning slyly at Astoria.

"Please don't call me Asty again unless you want to be thrown off of the tower." She snarled jokingly, taking a step closer to him.

He smirked a typical Slytherin smirk and took a step closer to her, you could feel the sexual tension rolling off of them. I hadn't realised I was chanting "KISS KISSS!" in my muddled head.

"Have fun trying to, I don't go down without a fight... Asty." He jeered as both of them stood so close together, you wouldn't be able to get a magazine between them.

"Oi oi Zabini, you going to flirt or are you going to bring me the filter?" Malfoy cheered, throwing a small pebble at his back.

Blaise moved backwards, not breaking eye contact with Astoria as he retreated, leaving her standing there, her mouth slightly agape.

As Astoria, me, Harry, Neville, Luna, Ginny and Ron had all finished the work we sat on the dusty floor, chatting.

"Next Tuesday is the Slytherin game night. Every Tuesday since first year, me, Draco, Blaise and Pansy have played some form of game." Astoria explained. "Yesterday I fell asleep in your common room so didn't attend. So next week I would much like you all the hang out in the Slytherin common room and play with us." She grinned, beaming at us all.

"We already know where it is." Ron laughed, punching Harry gently in the shoulder. I frowned; the memory wasn't pleasant for me. Being turned into a cat is rather uncomfortable and embarrassing, especially with moaning myrtle laughing at you.

Everyone else had a confused expression on their faces, staring at the three of us; Harry and Ron collapsing into a fit of giggles and me with my teeth clenched and not looking all too fond of them.

"I cannot go, neither can Neville and Ginny." Luna said sadly, her voice dripping with disappointment. "We have to go and help Hagrid and Professor Sprout." She explained, a small frown appearing on her usually beaming face.

"It's ok." Harry giggled, still lying on his back. I shook my head at him; the boy was an idiot sometimes.

The bell rung and everyone filled out of the classroom, I was getting a headache; I needed a walk around in the now dark purple sky.

I mumbled an excuse to Ginny as I left, strolling comfortably through the corridors; making my way towards the black lake.

DRACO POV:

I was slightly disappointed that I couldn't eat dinner, Slughorn will see me and drag me to that stupid detention. I had to get as far away from the great hall as possible.

My body was on auto pilot as I made my way to the forest, putting the hood of my robe up to conceal my face and hair, which would give me away.

I kept on moving, until I was at the black lake. The Dementors were doing their creepy thing again, gathering in the hundreds at dumbledore's grave.

I immediately climbed up the tree, not noticing a figure staring wide eyed at the Dementors under it. I felt the bark, cold and rough against my fingers and palms as I climbed.

I edged along a branch that hung over the lake, and grabbed the end of another; this tree was right above the grave on the island. I threw myself along it, now on the island.

The cold air was caught in my chest and brought me back to my senses. I cannot produce a patronus. I wouldn't need one...as long as they didn't find me?

I watched for a minute, the swooping cloaks floating eerily above the stone grave. The small island was becoming even more packed. I noticed that the island was bigger than it appeared; it had its own forest and everything. My mood was still light and cheerful, as I examined what was going on.

Once all of the Dementors had arrived, one by one they floated into the woods. I intended to follow them.

HERMIONE POV:

The sight of the dementors swooping over the lake sends a shiver up my spine. I begin to climb easily and swiftly up the tree, I had to get to the island to find out what was going on. I can produce a patronus so I can't see the risk in going closer.

Leaping from tree to tree I saw the last of the Dementors disappear into the forest. Their cloaks barely visible in the rapidly darkening sky. I could hear my heart pumping as I silently crept into the dense forest, the trees blocking out all light from the moon. I couldn't use my patronus yet, or even lumos. They would see me.

The darkness was overwhelming, the ragged breathing of the creatures filled my ears, but I couldn't see them, making it worse.

A cloaked figure was standing in the middle of the circle, speaking in a hushed language, that the Dementors seemed to understand.

They all soared up into the sky, I didn't notice. All I heard was a crack of someone apparating away.

I cautiously began to creep closer, keeping my mood neutral; as to not alert the Dementors of my presence.

I heard a yelp of pain coming from my left and I rushed after the sound. The Dementors had someone I could tell. But who was on the island other than me?

"Lumos!" I panted, twigs cracking under my running feet. The light revealed a black figure hunched over, probably sucking the life out of someone.

"EXPECTRO PATRONUM!" I yelled, my happiest memory filling me up from my toes to the top of my head.

The otter came soaring out of the tip of my wand, sliver and adding to the glow. It swept into the figure sending it flying onto it back...."uuhhhh.." I stammered backing away.

The figure sat up, a hood falling back.

"WHAT THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU DOING AND WHO THE HECK ARE YOU!?" It screamed, jumping to its feet and jabbing his wand to my throat.

"Malfoy?" I cried in confusion, what the hell was he doing here?

"Granger?" he exclaimed, lighting the tip of his wand; still pressed to my neck.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed, yanking his wand away from my throat.

"I could ask you the same question! And why did you expectro patronum me?" He huffed, taking a step back to examine my face.

"I am here because I wanted to see what the Dementors are up to and I used the spell on you because I THOUGHT YOU WERE A DEMENTOR!" I yelled, squinting through the darkness; trying to make out his bewildered expression.

"DO I LOOK LIKE A BLOODY DEMENTOR TO YOU THEN?" He yelled, running his hands through his silky platinum hair in frustration. "Shhhhhh" I whispered, "they may come back."

"FANTASTIC! WHOOOO DEMENTOR S YAY!" He sang sarcastically. I used my wand to direct us back to the tree.

"You looked like a dementor with your hood up, and when were you hunched over?" I hissed, pointing to the jagged branch, "after you!" I snarled angrily.

"Hey, calm down!" He mumbled, shoving his wand in his pocket. I was fuming, I could see he was holding in his laughter.

"I shall not calm down, you have no way of defending yourself from them and you are laughing?" I declared incredulously, pointing furiously at the tree.

"Hey, you go first." He mumbled, the smile vanishing from his face. I huffed at him, why on earth would he ask for me to go first?

"OH BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO RISK FALLING INTO THE LAKE IF A BRANCH BREAKS OR YOU JUST ARE WORRIED THAT THERE WILL BE DEMENTORSS ON THE OTHER SIDE? YOU COWARD! YOU CANT DEFEND YOURSELF SO YOU WANT TO RISK MY LIFE TO-" He put his hand over my mouth gently; I tried to force it off but he was too strong.

"You can't reach the first branch. It's too high. Let me give you a boost." He calmly replied, lifting me up so I could stand on it.

Then he flung himself up and made a big deal of over taking me and going in front, smirking the whole time. "Shuddup Malfoy." I snarled as I heard a warm laugh escape his lips. "I hate you." I barked as he swung the frail branch side to side. He chuckled and steadied the branch.

Once we got to the bottom I couldn't see him anymore, I was worried that he fell into the lake. But he was on the ground before I jumped down....where was he?

"Malfoy?" I called, suddenly I heard a rumble of breath from behind me. I pulled my wand out, spinning around. Only to see a tall cloaked figure...cracking up laughing.

"Not funny!" I whined, smacking him over the head with the palm of my hand. He pulled down his hood revealing tears of laughter falling down his face. "Oh, you should have seen your face! It was hilarious! Ahaha I have a stitch!" He chortled, bend double and looking like he was going to start rolling around on the floor.

I rolled my eyes and began walking to the castle. "W-what time is it?" he asked, desperately trying to compose himself. "Half 11" I replied bluntly.

"How do you know that?" he chuckled, speed walking to catch up with me. I pointed to the huge clock in a tower. "Oh" was all he said before he tackled me to the ground.

"OW!" I huffed; it didn't really hurt; only made me jump. "Your good moods put my health at risk." I grumbled, lying on my back staring at the stars on the cloudless night.

I saw the mist from his breath as he laid down beside me, I watched my own fade into the night.

We were silent for a while. Watching the stars; laying on the bumpy ground.

"Cold for a spring day." I mumbled, pulling the sleeves of my cardigan over my hands. I wasn't wearing my robe, I had given it to Ginny and now I deeply regretted it.

"Here." He whispered faintly, chucking his robe over my head. "Now I don't have to look at your ugly mug." He chuckled; I could tell he was joking.

DRACO POV:

Of course I was lying. Granger was beautiful, whether I admitted it or not.

She was snuggled down in my robe, I could smell the apple shampoo that she always used; her hair is perfect curls. I suspect Astoria did her hair; she always does Pansy's.

"How did you know I can't produce a patronus?" I yawned. She was thinking of an answer, her brows furrowed and her lips were slightly pouted. I had the sudden urge to kiss them.

Why did I want to kiss her lips? I hate Granger...at least I did. She is more of an acquaintance now; but I can't let her know I think she could be a friend.

How many times have I kissed her? I thought, counting the times in my head. I couldn't remember a couple probably.

"It's sort of obvious. You have been miserable since 6th year and in the fifth you were hardly that happy to be able to produce one." Se interrupted my thoughts by saying this.

"True. I haven't been happy in ages, but today I am over the moon!" I revealed, startling her as I jumped to my feet.

"Shall we dance...mudblood?" I offered her my hand as I bowed dramatically.

My robe was so big on her it looked like a dress. She laughed a soft silky laugh and stood up too, curtsying.

I took her hand and grabbed her waist. I decided to do a strange version of the tango, randomly dipping her and she laughed and squealed.

Fireflies were dancing around and the stars were twinkling, we danced goofily for hours until she yawned.

"Malfoy, its 2 in the morning...we should get some sleep." She mumbled her eyelids half closed and a sleepy expression on her face.

"We do have school in the morning." I sighed and began to walk back to the castle. She handed me back my robe and I slipped it on. We parted ways at the stairs leading down to the dungeon, my mind racing and only one person on my mind. That person was indeed; Hermione Granger.

My dream was strange. I was falling, I landed in the black lake. It grew darker as I sank deeper; I lacked air in my lungs and my ribs were aching, like they were being squeezed and torn apart.

Soon it was so dark I couldn't see and my eyes began to close, feeling light and heavy at the same time. A hand grabbed mine and dragged me to the surface. Then I was on a beach; the sand getting stuck to my soaking clothes.

Voldemorts pale hand; with its long pointy fingers was clasped around my wrist. Dementors had Astoria, Blaise, my mother and Hermione clasped in their knarly hands as they slowly sucked the happiness out of them. The bodies sank limply to the floor and Voldemorts face came at mine. I woke screaming and writing around. The image of red slits for eyes burning in my skull.

"DRACO ITS OK!" I heard a distant yell. "Shh, mate it was just a dream." Bliase whispered reassuringly. I slowly opened my heavy eyelids to see him. In pyjama bottoms and a grey t shirt, e looked worried.

"What time is it?" I mumbled drowsily, the image flickering in my eyes.

"Half five mate, lessons start at 9 so no point going back to sleep." He replied, pulling back the covers.

I got out of bed heavily. "Let's get ready then you can tell me all about it." He sighed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and plodding into the bathroom.

I sat on the edge of my bed. The silky green and silver covers were comforting and I buried my face in them, trying to get the dream out of my mind.
