"I couldn't help but at least try and say something to you. I mean, not to be a stalker but I been seeing you all year and I never got the courage to say nothing. But since we graduated I guess I have one more chance.", the cute guy said to me. I still had this goofy ass grin on my face.
I only saw him when I was at basketball games. How could I have missed him during school hours? He's so gorgeous. Finally he snapped me out of my thoughts by saying, " damn Mckenzie you like what you see?" I started blushing as I looked down. "How do you know my name?", I said. I'd never even talked to him before. But he knew me? "Girl now you know everybody knows your name at that school. You the most beautiful, popular girl here." He said making me blush again. I kept getting butterflies in my stomach from his little sweet remarks.
Omg I never asked him his name! "So stranger..." I said in a flirty tone, " I never got your name." "Oh sorry, my name is Cameron. But you can call me Cam." It seemed like me and Cameron talked the whole party. I forgot I was at a party it just seemed like it was me and him. Like I had known him forever. I finally looked at my clock and it was like 2:45 am. Me and him had talked that long? It didn't even seem like it.
He walked me to my car. When I got in I rolled down my window, "how are you getting home?" I asked. "Uhh to he honest I never thought about that. I'll just walk home. I live like 3 miles from here." He said like that was normal. "I don't think so... it's almost 3:00 in the morning. You can't be walking by yourself like that.", I said keeping my eyes on my Samsung Galaxy. I couldn't keep looking in his eyes. It's like they put me in a trance.
I insisted that he got in the car. Finally after going back and forth about him walking, he got in the car. He was giving me directions to his house and it was somewhere I had never even seen before. The place looked rundown. It was a lot of toys in the front yard. The windows were boarded up. And there was a heavy set lady sitting on the porch under the porch light smoking a black and mild.
I was so confused. How could Cam afford all of that stuff that he had on today if he lives in the hood? Before Cam got in the house I honked my horn for him to come back. The lady on the front porch stood up. Cameron gestured for her to sit back down. Then he jogged to my car. "ma you can't me honking yo horn at 3:00 am. My grandma almost came and got in yo ass." He said laughing.
I chuckled kind of embarrassed and scared. "Oh sorry. Well I forgot to ask for your number. I figured since we graduated I should try and keep in touch since we won't be seeing each other at school." I said kind of hesitant. I had never asked a guy for his number before. "Oh yeah sure" he said as he took my phone and saved his number in under "Cam ;)". I looked at the contact and laughed. Just before Cameron got to his porch he said, "Call me tomorrow or text me tonight! Thanks for the ride home!" Then he helped his grandma inside the house.
Once they were inside I drove off. Finally coming back to my suburban neighborhood. When I snuck into my room through my window my mom was sitting on my bed waiting. "Mom I'm tired and I really don't wanna deal with you tonight." I said as I walked into my closet and changed into my hello kitty pajamas. "I called Tasha's mom to see if you girls wanted me to buy y'all some snacks. Her mother thought Tasha drove over here and was with us... So I guess my question would have to be, where were you?" She said in a calm but angry manner. "Ughh mom I went to Rayan's grad party. No alcohol, no drugs, and her parents were there. So don't trip." I said as I kicked off my shoes and pulled my phone out. Not even looking at her. "Was Tasha there?" She asked as she snatched my phone. "Mom really!" I yelled. "Also I don't know where Tasha was. She's lame. We aren't even friends. Also mom I'm 18. I'm grown and give me my phone back." I said with a smirk on my face.
The truth is I didn't care if she took that phone. I had a back up iPhone 5 and a Galaxy note. So I wasn't tripping. She said "little girl I don't know where you got this little attitude from. And if you're so grown why don't you pay bills? My are you so immature? Why don't you respect the church house and our family name?" She said. "Mom really okay I'm a disgrace thanks okay I'm sleepy bye mom." She replied with "don't ask for this phone back. I'll give it back when you act like an adult Mckenzie. What happened to my little girl who loved church? And respected her parents?" She looked kind of hurt. I was just so angry tears started streaming down my face. I screamed, "SHE GREW UP!" She started crying and left my room slamming the door. I flopped on my bed and reached in my night stand drawer for my Galaxy note. I activated it and switched everything over so my mom couldn't see it. Also I reported it stolen so it would shut down. When I got situated I text Cameron.
