After Cameron gave me my present I went back to work and I was so happy. The customers started flowing in. Some of them were rude and fussy but I didn't even care. Cameron is just so dang sweet, he made my day. I know it's kind of weird, I just met this guy. Here he was being all nice to me and stuff. Finally it was 5:00. I clocked out for good. I had a dinner date with my best friend Rayan. So I got in my car and drove home.
When I got to the house I went in through the Garage. I didn't hear anyone but then I remembered it was Monday so my mom had women's bible study and my father had a deacons meeting. I guess that's good because I didn't feel like being bothered. I took a shower for like 30 minutes when I got out I put in my pink towel and walked into my closet to see what I was gone wear. I decide on a pink maxi dress ( my favorite color is pink.) and my gold sandals. I put on my dark kiss lotion from Bath and Body Works. I put my hair in the neat sock bun but I left strings of hair on the side.
I opened my jewelry box and got my gold earrings with pink balls. And I got my gold bangles. I hate the noise it makes but whatever beauty costs. I wasn't really in a rush because the restaurant was 5 minutes away from my house. When I got there I saw rayan in the back of the restaurant texting away sitting at a booth. She looked so pretty. She had on a blue and orange maxi dress with the matching accessories. She mixed so her hair looked curly but today it was like she put moose in it.
I walked over there and sat down, "Hey boo!", she said as she out her phone down. "Hey girl! Your party was a trending topic on twitter. Everybody was talking about it. It was too turnt up!", I said. She smiled and said,"well I can't tell girl I saw you for like 45 minutes and them i ain't see you know more." I smiled because that made me think about Cam. "Girl! I was there until like 3:00 in the morning. But that's what I wanted to tell you about." As soon as I was about to start the waiter came up and asked for our drunk and food orders. I ordered Chicken Spaghetti and Rayan ordered a personal pizza.
While we ate and drank our teas I told her about Cameron and how sweet he's been and how cute she is. She didn't notice him either. I figured she wouldn't because we hang out together. And if I didn't know him I knew she wouldn't. I showed her a picture of him that we took together at the food court.
Her whole facial expression changed when she saw the picture. "Kenzie I know him..." she said with her head hanging low. "Cameron is the leader of this gang that my brother was in before he was killed. He means business Kenzie and I don't know if you should talk to him." She said with her eyes getting teary. "When my brother died he said he would take care I my mom but he never did. We don't even know where he's buried." She said as she started crying.
Now I had some things to talk about. I just thought he was a dealer I didn't know he was running the whole show. I know I'm trying to rebel against my parents and whatever but I am a firm believer in Christ. I don't know if I can be talking to someone like that. About an hour later me and Rayan said our goodbyes. When I got in the car, I called Cameron. "Hello?", he said. "Hey Cameron it's something I gotta talk to you about. Can you meet me at the snow cone shop?" I said kind of nervous. "Yeah I'll be there is like 15 minutes boo." "Aight bye"
I drove to the snow cone shop. It was right in between the hood and the suburbs. When I got there I had to wait for like 5 minutes until Cam got there. He stepped out of a Audi that looked brand new. I think it was. He sat at the picnic table across from me and leaned over to kiss me. I was hesitant though. Just the thought of him killing people and all that violence frightened me.
I thought Cameron was so sweet and quiet but I realized that he was only quiet at school maybe because he has to lay low. "So... Do you know a girl named Rayan?" I asked kind of quiet. "Yeah I know Rayan... Why wassup?" He ask concerned. "She told me that you are the leader of a gang and that I should stay away from you. I didn't know what to think because you seemed so quiet. But is that true? Also you said you would take care of Rayan and her mom but you didn't." I said just letting everything out. He didn't look mad. He just shifted in his seat and moved closer to my face. I could feel him breathing. But my head was down.
"Yes ma I am the leader of a gang. I just lay low because if I always flaunt what I have then people will know who the leader of the gang is. Yes after Rayan's brother died I told her mom I would take care of them. I put 2 million dollars in the bank for them. That's why they stay in your neighborhood. I stopped because Rayan's mom started accusing me of having something to do with the murder. That's all. I know you probably scared because we come from two totally different backgrounds. But if you'd just ride with me ma I swear I got you. I would never let nothing happen to you I promise" he said looking me deep into my eyes. Like he just poured his heart out on to the table. I couldn't help it when I leaned in and kissed him. It seemed like we kissed forever. Not even coming up for air.
When we finally parted ways I decided to go home. It was like 11:00 pm. I walked in the house and it was quiet. While I was walking down the hall towards my room I heard my parents arguing. My mom screamed at my dad," Joshua I know you're still fooling around with the Deacon Sydney's wife!" My dad said," I'm not fooling around with that woman no more I told you that!" "Then why is she on your phone log more than 20 times in one day Joshua. You don't even care about this family. Your daughter is acting a fool. I'm depressed! You still haven't told Mckenzie that you have another child by Tasha's mom.!" I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
My dad really betrayed us like that. Why is our family so screwed up! I have a sibling. I thought that was Tasha's little brother. What in the world is going on right now. This is too much for me. I ran to my room and texted Cam.

Me: hey where you at?
Cam: at home about to take a shower why wassup?
Me: I can't take living here anymore. I know I leave for collage soon but I just heard my parents arguing about something crucial.
Cam: alright I'll be there in like 15 minutes. We can go to my secret apartment.
Me: alright thanks.
