A/N: For those of you who have followed the other chapters, I want to clear up just a taaaad few things…

1) The apartment Alex and Raven is living in are more like…single little homes. They are spread apart a large area of land. Most of the buildings are vacant. Just, all the violence that’s gunna happen and stuff in the chapter, I know someone is gunna think “Dude, everyone that lives around them must be deaf or something.” Yea…sorry for not clearing that up. Sheltered little student here doesn’t know what the difference from “home” and “apartment” is. *hides in corner*

2) Alex’s “job” is basically an environmental scientist. You know, geology, hydrology, ecology, etc. etc. But that won’t matter in the future…heh heh heh…

Well, that’s it. Hope that clears up some stuff for what is about to ensue. Happy reading!

Chapter 5

I run out of the laundry room and race down the stairs inelegantly, almost tripping over empty moving boxes on my way out. My eyes are blurry from my tears, but I try to ignore them. I run outside and sprint towards Stallion. I grab the combination lock on my motorcycle and get it open. Once I straddle it, I’m only dumbfounded that I forgot the key on the coffee table.

Fucking hell! Seriously!?

I desperately race back to the front door and open it, only to be greeted by one large fierce beast, and Matt in his odd wolf-human form; fighting viciously down the stairs.

I slam the door closed.

There’s no way I can go back in there without being caught in that fight!

I’m shaking violently now. I don’t know what to do anymore! Matt’s car keys were in his pocket, and I don’t know how to hot wire a car. It’s not like I have someone to go to, and I’m not running into town by myself.

Why did I run outside anyway? Why didn’t I just go hide in my junky closet or something?

Why do I keep on obeying Alex?!

Fresh tears start rolling down my cheeks. I’ve cried so much more today than I’ve had in years.

I hear growling and things crashing on the marble floor inside of the apartment.

Matt…I should’ve just sat there and at least pretended to listen to you. Agh! Why do I do these things!?

I clench my eyes from anger and frustration.

“What do I do now? WHERE DO I GO?!” I yell, holding my face in my hands.

Run…the forest...

I snap my head up.

“W-who said that?”

Forest…forest…

I look across the street and see the dense, almost impossible to cut through forestry. There’s no way…

Forest…safety…run…

“I’m trusting whoever you are.” I whisper, making my way across the empty street.

I reach my destination.

“How do I even get through this?” I say to myself.

Before I could figure it out, the front door of fly’s open. It’s Matt in his creepy, human-wolf hybrid form; except his clothes are torn to shreds, and a bristled tail and ears accompany him. But his right shoulder is slumped, almost like he broke it…
