Chapter 10

Fionna's P.O.V.
Stepping outside of the house I walked next to Marshall as we wandered to the Candy Kingdom.

It feels so good to be back outside again I thought to myself, a small smile on my face.

"So why are we going to the Candy Kingdom again?" I asked Marshall curiously.

"Well since you haven't been running around saving Aaa, there's been a lot of missions that have yet to be completed so we're gonna see Gumwad-"

"Hey!"

"What? He is" Marshall said with a chuckle, sending a wink my way. "As I was saying, we're gonna see if Gumw- sorry, Gumball, has any missions for us".

I haven't done a mission in forever

"What are we waiting for Marsh? Let's go" I said excitedly, turning to face Marshall while jumping up and down.

With a small laugh and a shake of his head, Marshall landed down next to me, turning his back towards me and bending his knees to a crouch.

"Hop on bunny" he said, looking back over his shoulder with a smirk.

Jumping on to Marshall's back, wrapping my arms around his neck I shout "Go forth my steed!" with a small blush of pink across my cheeks.

no no no, stop thinking like that Fionna, you can't like him I thought, the blush turning darker.

Laughing, Marshall floated off the ground, one arm clutching his umbrella with the other gripping my legs, and took of to he Candy Kingdom

Stepping into Gumball's lab, I immediately gravitate towards the cupcakes sitting on top of the oven. I hear Marshall chuckle lightly behind me as I bend so the cakes are at eye level. Just as I'm about to grab one, I hear someone walking towards me. Quickly spinning around I see Gumball smiling at me.

"Oh hello Fionna" he says with a small wave, "What brings you here?"

"Well you see, Marshall and-"

"Oh, you brought Marshall" he says with disappointment, eyeing Marshall up and down.

"Yeah great to see you too Gummy" Marshall says sarcastically as he moves to stand by my side.

"Uh yeah anyway, we were wondering if you had any missions for us?"

"Oh yes of course, let me go check" he says happily as he walks out the room.

I lean back against the counter with arms crossed over my chest, and turn to look at Marshall who's glaring at the spot Gumball just occupied.

"Hey Marsh, you okay?"

He snaps his head down to look at me, eyes softening slightly. He lifts his hand to scratch the back of his neck.

"Yeah, just still not a fan of that Gumwad"

"Hey, he's not that bad" I say shaking my head with a giggle.

"Come on Fionna, for one he wears pink and we both know how much you don't like the colour" he says with a pointed look.

"Ok yeah but that's only one thing"

"You have to admit he's the biggest scaredy cat in all of Aaa" he says smirking.

"Well, I mean"

"Oh Fionna, Fionna save me! Oh Fionna protect me please" he shouts in a mocking tone, dramatically falling to his knees throwing an arm over his eyes.

Bursting out laughing I clench my eyes shut and move my arms to cradle my stomach.

"Marshall!" I manage to say through giggles. Opening my eyes to look down at him I see him moving his arm slightly so he can peak up at me.

"How'd I do?" He says cheekily, rising from the floor to stand up and rest his arm on my shoulder.

"Okay okay, it was pretty good" I say letting out a deep breath.

"Naw look at the good little girl agreeing with the bad boy" he says with a wink.

Shoving his arm I roll my eyes, "You're such a butt"

"Glad to know you think about my butt" he says smirking.

"Hey-" I begin to say with flushed cheeks just as Gumball walks back in.

I do not, I mean maybe I do - UGH stop no bad Fionna, stupid Marshall making my brain mushy and stuff

"Sorry I took so long, but there is a mission for you two to do"

"Oh rad, what is it"

"I need you to get the Crystal Orb from the Crystal Caves"

"Math, let's go Marsh. Bye Gumball"

"Goodbye Fionna, uh Marshall"

"Yeah yeah, goodbye to you to Gummy"

We make our way out the castle, as we do I catch Marshall sending Gumball a smirk before he drapes his arms over my shoulders and we walk out the gates.
