Spence's POV:
"Addilyn?" The doctor called out to her. She didn't respond.
"What's wrong?"
"It's normal." He said to me.
"We need to get her stable or we might lose the baby." He tried to whisper to the nurses. But I heard him. That's when I started to panic.
"Whats going on? Is she okay? Ad? Addi? Addilyn?!"
"Get him to the waiting room." The doctor demanded. A nurse pulled me there by the arm. The team walked in minutes later.
"How is she?" Derek asked as he ran over.
"I don't know. But from the looks of it not good."
"And the baby?" He began to tear up.
"If they can't get her stable she might lose the baby." I began to cry as did Derek.
The others walked over and saw the tears and instantly knew that it wasn't good. Tears began to form in their eyes. To change the subject I asked.
"How's JJ?"
"She'll be fine." Emily said with tears streaming down her face as she wiped them away.
We then waited for what seemed like eternity to find out if Ad's okay. My thoughts were interrupted by the same nurse that pulled me out here. I ran over to her with Morgan not far behind.
"How is she?"
"She's stable."
"And the baby?"
"We are giving her something to try to stop the contractions."
"What if it doesn't work?"
"Then we will deal with that if it comes to it."
"Can we see her?"
"Yes."
I rushed to her room with Morgan right behind me. When I got to her room I pushed open the door to see her laying there with her eyes shut. I walked over to the other side of the bed and held her hand. That's when she squeezed my hand and opened her eyes.
"The baby's fine. They are giving you something to try to stop the contractions."
After a minute of silence. She looked up from looking at our hands with tears rolling down her cheek.
"What if if doesn't work? I'm only 6 months. It's to early to have the baby. I don't wanna lose this baby." She began to panic and become somewhat hysterical.
"Hey Addi. You won't lose this baby." Derek said as he walked over standing next to her on the other side.
"You don't know that."
"That's true, but I do know that one of the most powerful feelings in this world are fear. But something even more powerful than fear is hope."
She nodded.
"Have you had any more contractions?"
"No." She shook her head.
"That's good."
She then grabbed the sheets.
"Never mind." She said through her teeth.
"Here squeeze my hand."
Ad's POV:
As soon as he asked it hit me like a truck.
"Here squeeze my hand." Spence said holding out his hand. I grabbed it and squeezed. I feel bad because I know that it didn't feel good for Spence.
*the next morning*
I woke up to Spence and Derek asleep in the chairs next to me. That's when the doctor walked in and said
"How are you feeling?"
"Great."
"No pain?"
"Nope." I said popping the p.
"Well you can go home later today if there is still no pain. But no flying. And I want you on bed rest by next week."
"But..."
"No buts." Spence said rubbing his eyes.
By the afternoon we were leaving and getting in the car to drive back to Virginia. Ugh.
*around 8 & 1/2 hours later*
I was in bed with Spence cuddling.
"You had me worried."
"I had myself worried. I can't imagine what you were thinking. I'm sorry."
"It's okay. But it has come to it Ad."
"I know..."
"You can't go to work. I'm sorry."
"I won't."
