Inspiration

Imagination comes from inspiration.

I think...

To be honest I have no idea.

But all of my good (and some bad) ideas came from being inspired by other people's work.

And when you think about it they were probably inspired by something or someone else to do their own thing.

So really, I'm right.

In a way.

But ask yourself this,

Where would we be without imagination?

We'd be boring.

Without imagination we wouldn't have a lot of the things we do now.

And I am talking bookwise.

We wouldn't have Narnia, we wouldn't have the Hunger Games, Divergent, Maze Runner, Lord of the Rings, and all other kinds of books and stories that I will not name at the moment because I'm going to move on.

My point is, without imagination, or inspiration, or those two words, What if?

We wouldn't have amazing stories.

I have been inspired by many things. I was inspired to create my own worlds. My own characters and places. And most importantly, A STORY!

Let me back up for a minute and tell you that I have always loved reading. Ever sense I learned to read at the age of 4 I have been in love with books.

Of course, I didn't really get into book series until much later.

The first book series I really got into was the Chronicles of Narnia.

And that started after I saw the movies.

So here's where the inspiration came in. I was mesmerized by
C.S. Lewis's masterpiece.

The land he created filled me with wonder and amazement. So naturally after I discovered that I could not get into Narnia through my closet I took mater's into my own hands and created my own world.

Oh man, I can't tell you how many hours I spent outside walking in a circle around my house and pretending to be in a whole other place.

I never had a name for my secret world (I had never mentioned it to anyone) but I had every other detail planned out.

Mostly my world was inhabited by animals (not a big surprise) but I went crazy with the animals.

I had a pegasus made out of water, horses made out diamonds and emeralds, and a war unicorn.

Yes, I was horse crazy.

But I also had a fox, some dragons, birds, wolves, you get the idea.

But in my world I was the queen. I imagined myself in a white dress and that I wore a crown made out of many different jewls, and I had a diamond sceptor that gave me "the power to good."

I even had a rival. Sort of my version of the white witch in Narnia. Except in my mind, I represented all that was good in the world. I was kind, loving, everything a good ruler should be. And then my rival, represented the darkness. She was cruel, evil, everything that a bad ruler was.

I battled against her and her dark forces in my mind. I carried a stick around and that was my sceptor. I was having epic battles in my head, while all everyone else saw was me waving a stick around and staring off into space.

Remember, I never talked out loud when I "played."

Eventually I grew out of my fantasy world that I had created because I had been inspired by a Mr. C.S. Lewis.

But that wasn't the end of my creating of... Stuff.

Soon I got into the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. L

You know, the one about the cat clans that lived in the forest?

Anyway, after I finished the series I created my own clans with my own cats, with my own history.

If I remember correctly I had Fireclan, Lightiningclan, Snowclan, and Iceclan.

I probably could trace my entire family tree of fake cats back through at least five generations.

Once I grew out of that phase I moved on to another book series called "The Last Dogs"

Quick summary of the triology, there's a virus that's being spread to humans that makes them sick but it doesn't affect animals so these three dogs try to find the humans who have evacuated and on their journey they're tricked into an experiment which leaves them with the ability to read and understand people.

So the idea I got from that story was a dog, a cat, and a ferret, are also exposed to a strange experiment which leaves the dog with super strength and the cat with intelligence and the ferret is normal. The humans were gone and it was a totally animal based story.

That one probably lasted the longest.

So to sum up what I'm trying to say is, you can't write and make up an awesome story without imagination. And you can't have imagination without inspiration.

Alright. Now someone get that sewn on a pillow.
