Chapter 12: L and Near...

(L's POV)

Why did he leave me? I just don't understand....

I hope he comes to his senses and comes back to me to explain everything. I feel so weak.

I grab my keys and my coat and head out to Nears HQ. I feel like talking to him, I always go to him when somethings wrong and vice versa.

It was supposed to snow all week but all its done is rain. The world feels empty without him.

A few more minutes of walking and I'm standing outside the HQ. I walk through the door and ask the receptionist if she could take me to Near.

"Sure right this way" she gives me a small smile and walks off, I follow close behind her.

"Wait here I'll call him out for you" I stand outside the room and wait a few minutes. I look down the hall and see Light. Wait what? I rub my eyes and look again, it was only Mello talking to someone in the door. I sigh and Bear finally walks out.

"Hey L!" I look at him and smile slightly. We walk into his room and sit on the bed for a few minutes before he speaks up.

"Hey are you okay? Your paler that normal if thats even possible" I just sigh as a reply and he wraps an arm around me and pulls me into a hug.

"It's about Light isn't it?" I nod and hold back the tears in my eyes. This is what love can do to a person, thats why I don't like to fall in love but Light was special.

"You can cry if you want to I don't mind" I pour out my tears and let out quiet sobs. This only makes Near pull me in closer to him.

"You will see Light again soon don't worry he still loves you I can tell you that" I nod and close my eyes letting the darkness consume me.

"Thank you Near" I say before I fall into a peaceful sleep. I haven't been able to sleep in years and having Light with me helped.

I hope he's okay wherever he is...

~Time Skip~

I wake up to an unfamiliar room. Oh right I'm in Nears bed still. With a sigh I get off the bed and walk back to the main room to say bye to Near. I walked around and I couldn't find him so I walked back to the reception.

Walking out the door I head back home. A couple catch my eye their looking at the rings in the window of the jewellery store.

Maybe one day I could ask Light to marry me. Yeah.

Another short chapter but I didn't have much time to write this one as I wanted to get it uploaded today. I added Thinking out Loud by Ed Sheeran randomly cuz I was listening to it while writing this (⌒▽⌒)

School starts again tomorrow so I'll try and upload more regularly but I can't promise.
