Chapter 20

Marco

I was sitting in my office talking on the phone with my dudes who were doing some searching for Tavi's mama. Well they actually found her and left my phone number with them. My phone started to ring and I picked it up seeing that it was Kim. "What up?" I said into the phone. "MARCO! YOU GOTTA GET TO MEMORIAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I THINK TAVI IS DEAD!" Kim screamed into the phone. "WHAT?!" I yelled back hanging up the phone and running out of my office. I hopped into my Challenger and did 120 all the way to the hospital. Thankfully, it wasn't any cops around. I ran into the emergency room to see Kim pacing while Q was sitting on the edge of his chair with his face in his hands. Blood was everywhere on the both of them. "Man where my girl at?" I said going up to Kim. "She's back there! They took her and haven't told us anything yet." She said with tears streaming down her face. "What happened?!" I yelled. Kim told me how she found Tavi and I just broke down. "FUCK MAN!" I yelled rubbing my hands down my face.

Shortly after I arrived, Jordan came, her uncle Justin, AJ, Kera, Lena, Jamar, Nate, and Kendrick showed up. Also Brittney, Talia, and Monica came running in. I didn't realize how we flooded out the waiting room until one of the nurses came and escorted us into a private family room with more chairs and it was closed off. Before the nurse left I tried to get information out of her. She didn't know anything, she was just sent by one of the other doctors to put us in a comfier room. My phone started ringing and I picked it up without even looking at the ID. "Now is not a good time." I said in a stern tone. "Okay, but a few guys came and told me that you wanted me to call you about Tavi." The woman said in the phone. "Ms. Marshall?" I whispered into the phone as I left out of the room for more privacy. "Yes?" She responded. "I know you don't know me but I'm Marco, Tavi's boyfriend. Tavi wanted me to reach out to you but unfortunately now is not the right time." I said into the phone. "Okay, where is my daughter? I can call and talk to her since now is not the right time for you." She said sounding excited. "Ma'am, that's kinda why it's not a good time. Tavi is in the hospital right now and we don't know if she is going to make it or not." I hesitantly told her. I could now hear her screaming on the other side of the line. "What hospital?" She quickly asked. "Ms. Marshall....Jordan is here and I don't know-" I started to say before I was interrupted. "WHAT DAMN HOSPITAL?!" She yelled. "Memorial." I quickly answered. That was all she wanted to know before she hung up in my face.

I went back into the room and stood in a corner away from everyone else who was either pacing, crying, staring into space, or talking among each other. "Marco what happened to my daughter man?" Jordan came up to me. "I wasn't with her J-Man. I had to get to work so after we spent some time together I dropped her off at home. We was supposed to hang out today but this shit happened. Sad thing is....I know who is responsible." I revealed as his eyes grew big. "Who?" He asked. "It's a long story. I'll meet you at your house after we find out if Tavi is okay." I told him. He nodded and walked away.

FOUR HOURS LATER.....

The doctors finally came in to tell us what is going on with Tavi. "I take it everyone in here is family so we're gonna cut right to the chase but right now time is critical. Tavi was stabbed and beaten badly. She lost alot of blood before you all found her and now we're here to see if maybe one of you would be a match for her blood type." I lost feeling in my knees and had to squat down. I feel even worse because if I would have walked Tavi into the house and not just dropped her at the driveway, she wouldn't have been hurt like that. But I know Princess is responsible and I plan on making that bitch pay. She wanna get mad because I moved on to Tavi but she was the one who cheated on me repeatedly until I got sick of the shit and left her. But she will get what's coming to her.

The doctors tested everyone for their blood types to see if they would be a match for Tavi. Soon enough they came back into the room and called out AJ and Kim. "Ya'll two are the only ones with her same blood type so we need you to come in the back quickly to give blood." Jordan jumped up and stopped the doctor. "What the fuck you mean they are the only ones with her matching blood type? I'm her father! Shouldn't I be the closest match?" Everyone in the room was silent watching the whole situation go down. "Sorry sir, but your blood type was not even close to being a match for her. Now if you'll excuse me, we have to do this procedure quickly if you want Ms. Marshall to live." With that the doctors left the room with Kim and AJ and Jordan stormed out the room shortly after.

I went after Jordan to make sure he was okay. "Jordan you good?" I asked walking up behind him as he paced the floor outside. "Man hell nawl! That doctor basically just told me that that girl in there is not mine. Tavi has been my life since she was born man. How could Olivia do this to me?" He said trying to hide the tears. "And as far as I'm concerned, man Tavi is still your little girl. You been there for her since birth and that's the way it should still be." I said trying to find the right thing to say. Right then, Justin walked outside. "Jordan man, I'm sorry about this shit." He said. "What up Mr. Mason." I dabbed Justin up. "What up Marcus?" Justin said back. I've grown to be cool with the family from hanging out with Tavi at all the family gatherings. "I'm gone let ya'll talk. I'll call ya'll if they come back with some more news." I said walking back in the building.

Jordan

"Man Justin, I can't even wrap my mind around Tavi not being mine bro! I instilled so much in that little girl that she has become a spitting image of me!" I said as I sat down on the curb putting my face into my hands. "Man and that's why you need to continue to do what you've been doing. Tavi looks up to you and that's all that matters. In her eyes you're her dad and her everything else. I'm not saying don't tell her but make sure the time is right when you do. I'm pretty sure after what ya'll have been through, nothing will change the way she feel about you." Justin said nudging my arm. He was right, Tavi and I have been there for each other through hell and high water and I'm almost sure nothing will take her from me. My phone started to ring in my pocket and I quickly picked it. "Jordan, AJ and Kim just came back in and they said the doctor told them that he will be in here in just a minute to give us an update on Kim's condition." Marco said. "Ok we'll be up there." I said hanging up the phone. "We gotta go." I told Justin as we both got up and headed to the elevator.

I walked in the room and everyone was stone cold quiet. I looked around to see what was up and my eyes landed on the last person I wanted to see. I could have killed her right there! "Hello Jordan, Justin." Olivia spoke.
