You were pissed at Neymar. When he told you the wedding was days away, you thought he was kidding, but at practice he jokingly asked if you would be matching.

"WHAT?"

" Ay dios mio, don't tell me you have nothing to wear, you probably have a dress lying around somewhere right?" He asked.

" Oh my god Neymar. I do have plenty of dresses 'lying around' but not a formal wedding one!" you exclaimed, placing some bandages inside the first aid kit.

" I'm sure you will look beautiful" he assured you, placing a tan hand on your shoulder.

You shook your head at him, "you're incredible."

"I've been told" he grinned.

"Ah, Avery asked me to give you a formal invitation in case you want to invite someone else, her and Thiago are going to have tight security, so you're gonna want to have that" he handed you a gold envelope.

"Please don't bring Edwin though" he joked.

"Shhhh" you shushed him, worried Edwin would hear. Fortunately he was wearing a pair of black beats, nodding to his music, and couldn't hear a thing.

"What color is your tie? " you sigh.

" Red."

The wedding day was full of jitters for you and you weren't even getting married. You guessed it must have been awful for Avery. Thank god, you had found a decent red dress that complimented your skin tone and brown eyes. You were sure you could have found a way better one, but with the time crunch, it would have to do. Grabbing your keys, you rushed to Avery's, where your old friend Jenny had promised to style hair & makeup for the three of you.

You pulled up to Avery's house, sighing in relief as you saw that you weren't too late.

"Hey cutie!" Jenny opened the door, ushering you in.

"Hiii I'm not too late right?" You asked anxiously

"Nope, I have Avery almost done she's just needing some final makeup touches, and then I'll get started on you."

"You look amazing!!" you smiled at Jenny.

She was wearing a pretty blue lace dress that stopped at her knees, her black hair cascading down her back.

"Thanks! But wait til you see the bride" she winked.

You stepped into the kitchen where a little blondie was sitting.

Her hair was pulled up into a fancy updo, with half of it caught in an elegant barette, and the other half falling loosely over her shoulders, curled and styled of course. Her makeup was minimal, but very noticeable, as a champagne eye shadow contrasted with the dark and expertly applied lashes.

"You look so great Avery!!" You exclaimed.

"Thank you, I couldn't have asked for a better artist" she said gratefully.

"Thiago is going to faint when he sees you!" Jenny smiled.

"Ahh I hope not" she giggled.

After Jenny finished your hair and makeup, you were glad she hadn't gone overboard.

The foundation had felt a little cold at first, but there were no blemishes to be seen. The scary metal renaissance contraption had been used to curl your lashes, but you were pleased to see how long and dark they appeared now. Your hair had been transformed into simple, and neat hollywood curls.

"Dang I glowed up" you appreciated.

"Guys, I think it's time we leave, we don't wanna be late for the service" Avery replied.

"Omg!!" You and Jenny were surprised to see she was already wearing her wedding dress.

It was a dress that seemed made to fit her personality. It was long, with a cinched waist, adorned with a cute white bow at the middle, and lace sleeves with flowers on it. The top of the dress was shaped like a heart, and it flowed out nicely to meet her steve madden crystal shoes.

"You look like cinderella!" you sighed admiringly.

"Thank you, I love it so much!" she looked in the mirror, adjusting the bow so it was not crooked.

The service was short, the vows were shaky but adorable and the flower girl, Paige, had walked in a little late, amusing most as she stumbled along, leaving red petals as she blushed and hurried down the aisle.

You congratulated the happy couple, wishing them both eternal happiness.

"My brother will be back soon, he was here but ran home to get something" Thiago informed you.

"Okay, I'll be here" you reply.

After the service, the guests walked out for the food;  the buffet consisted of a tasty set up of chick-fil-a, pizza, and Italian food, as well as some fancy Brazilian dishes. The desserts were the most abundant, a personal request from both Thiago and Neymar.

Just as you were about to place some food on your plate you felt a light tap on your shoulder. You gave a loud gasp as you saw a beautiful man wearing a black tuxedo, held up only by two crutches, giving a crooked and shy smile.

"I thought it was you" he greeted you.

You placed your food down, hugging him, careful not to hurt his leg.

"Rafinha!!!"

"Dance with me?" he tilted his head towards the dance floor.

"I probably should wait for Neymar, I haven't seen him yet, he's supposed to be my date" you frowned searching the crowd of guests.

"Okay, I suck at dancing right now anyways" he glanced down at his crutches.

"Hey no, it's one dance right? I'm sure you won't be that bad." you tease him.

"I really doubt that" he gestured toward his crutches. "Otherwise I'd sweep you off your feet."

Though I've tried before to tell her of the feelings I have for her, in my heart. Every time that I come near her, I just lose my nerve as I've done from the start. Every little thing she does is magic.

"This feels strangely familiar" you smile reminiscing in the reminders of the school dances he had dragged you to. You really did have fun that night, besides the awkward run in with Neymar, dancing with Rafinha had been an art. You felt as close to him in those moments as you could ever be to a person.

The way he held your hand in his, warm and soft, the same as yours.

Maybe things had ended in a rough way with him, but he would always be your first love. The safe and warm radiance that shone from him when he smiled were enough to win your heart instantly at one point. His charm and natural kindness would always be his best suit, though, of that you were certain.

But dancing with him, even as tough as it was with the crutches, allowed you to feel close once again. It was not at all romantic though, his touch did not ignite your skin, or cause you those excited tingles when he stepped closer. Instead, you felt at ease, comfortable in his hold, free to leave whenever you pleased.

"What are you thinking?" he twirled you around.

You shook your head, "nothing important."

"Look, I know things were never settled between us, but I want you to know that if you ever need anything, I will always be here for you. Nothing will ever change that" he added.

"you will always be very important to me. The feelings I once had for you will keep being special to me, even if you and I may not feel them as strongly anymore.." he trailed off, looking at the entrance.

Neymar had arrived.
